The boat has 16 working engines, six pumps all in working condition, as it was maintained by the city of Seattle until 2013. It was a political hot potato until I acquired it last year. I intended to convert it into a project that was not feasible and so I decided it to sell it with no reserve, as long as it reaches enough views to generate the right buyer. I have clear title and the buyer must be able to secure with a 20% deposit of selling price immediately and paid in full within 72 hours of end of bid. Keep in mind that the vessel has raw materials including hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of antique brass, all cannons are brass, also the compass alone is worth over $5000. The engines are sparkling like new inside and the mechanics run like a clock, all electronics and navigation systems are in working order. It has about 3000 gallons of fuel in it already. FunctionalityMV ALKI is fitted with a loop fire fighting system. Individual Byron Jackson four-stage 2,700 GPM fire pumps powered by two tandem mounted Detroit Diesel 6-71 engines are connected to individual sea chests with manual gate valves. These individual pumps supply sea water to an engine room deck head mounted loop fire main which is fitted with low pressure hydraulic operated isolation valves. Connected to this loop system are the deck mounted fire monitors, bow under wharf fire nozzles, bow thrusters and stern thrusters. Water pressure within the system is controlled manually by throttle settings for the individual fire pump power plants. The propulsion system bow and stern thrusters are pilothouse controlled after start-up.The MV ALKI is also fitted with six (6) individual fire pumps powered by diesel engines.
