Up for sale is a 1963 john illingworth maica 33 "Icarus" yacht with mooring. She needs work. $100 takes her home, give me a call. good examples worth up to 20k, so well worth doing the repairsClassic lines and true blue water boat, very solid hold and capable of ocean crossingsCold moulded mahogany hull with no rotPly deck/cabin 90% solid but small local areas of rot need patchingYanmar ysm 8 inboard diesel was running but currently not runningNeeds a general tidy up/paint and cushions insidePort side winch removed when I started replacing a small section of rot, now in boatCan be sailed with main only (can't use job due to missing winch)2 mains and 2 jibs in poor to average conditionUsual ground tackle and bits and piecesComes with mooring which is able to be transferredSmall leak in 2 boards I have patched temporarily, will need repairMooring line is chafed, needs new section spliced inRego has expiredMooring also up for renewal $600/yearSorry I didn't know how to rotate the photos you'll just have to turn your head sideways. You will need a plan on how to deal with her, not just a dream. I've let it sit too long and realistically don't have the time to do it myself. Sale price is a giveaway, just to cover eBay fees/fuel for me to drive down and do transfers. Will not sell to interstate buyers, and cannot hold it for you. First person to turn up and transfer papers with $100 in their hands is the new owner. Realistically she needs painting, small sections of rot replaced and an oil change and some belts on engine then go sailing. Other things are cosmetic, you will get back the money you spend on the work. That worth at least a couple thousand, mooring worth another couple thousand and engine by itself worth similar amount, I just want to see her taken care of and used by someone who has the time to deal with it. Give me a call on 0406 119 921 to discuss/view. Will not sell unless you inspect in person.
On 26-May-16 at 15:56:49 AEST, seller added the following information:Have had a lot of phone calls, and offers to transfer money but just to add to the above for those who didn't read it, I will not sell the boat site unseen. To buy it you just inspect in person, understand what you are getting, be happy with what you are getting then pay for boat and transfer ownership same day. Again as per above, rego and mooring has expired, rego last month, mooring last week. If taking the boat elsewhere you will need to move it at time of sale to your own mooring/a commercial mooring and pay rego and transfer fees. If keeping boat and mooring then you will need to pay rego and mooring fees and transfer fees same day. Rego costs $203/yearMooring costs $351/yearMooring transfer $151 Total $605 to be paid to maritime on day of sale and transfer done same day. If not taking mooring no need to pay mooring fees/transfer fees. The mooring block itself is free. If you had to get your own mooring you would need to pay for the mooring blocks and setup as well as above fees, an extra $2000-$2500 for blocks so a very good saving to take over the existing mooring. If you don't take it I will be giving it away to a mooring contractor who will then on sell it. I expect the boat will possibly sell tomorrow (Friday). If not, I will be there Saturday morning from 9-10. If you come, be prepared to buy and able to pay. You are welcome to inspect in your own time if you have a dinghy, call for details 0406 119 921.
