My 25 foot Narrowboat launched in 1997 just has to go to a new owner so here goes. She is moored at Buckden Marina a mile from the town of Buckden on the edge of Cambridgeshire and 1 mile off the A1. She has 4 berths, a double and two singles. The double quite cleverly becomes a table for general use, and during the day the whole shebang folds away completely out of site(see pic)Well, what has she got. Plenty of seating, that's obvious but she has also all or most of the comforts of home. She has a kitchen sink with Hot and Cold water served by an excellent gas boiler. In addition it has a tiny but cute washroom for washing your face etc with it's own Hot and Cold taps. I suppose it is a bathroom with no bath or shower, the toilet is in fact elsewhere. So we come to the fridge which can run on the gas supply, boat batteries or the mains. Its good and does its job fine. Opposite there is a 4 burner gas stove with grill, clean as a whistle. There is also a 240v microwave requiring shore power and a kettle. Next to that there is one hell of a powerful gas room heater. There are glasses, plates, cups and saucers, cutlery and allsorts plus glasses for your on-board drinking occasions. Further along the boat there is the toilet compartment with of course it's toilet. There are lights all along the ceiling and DC and A/C sockets. the boat is already fitted for shore power so just plug in and go. All the seating has cupboards under. It is all pretty neat.So what about the engine, well that's the best bit. It is Diesel of course, a Kubota Nannidiesel. Three cylinders, water cooled providing 27hp at 3000 revs is all you need to know. You can chug along at up to 12 mph. The gearbox is fine also, 1 forward and 1 reverse. There are 2 batteries. There is a weed hatch. The engine cooling system is like your car, fill it up, add some antifreeze and forget it. Large fuel tank is hidden away and the fresh water tank is also out of sight. There are fire extinguishers everywhere and yes it has a current Boat Safety Certificate. Everything is controlled from the stern and the electric switches are easily to hand - horn, headlight, indoor lights, bilge pump and water pump for the sinks.Come on Spring has sprung and Summer is just about here. This craft is Easy Peasy to handle, is safe and you can't break it. It is also a great Fishing platformAny questions give me a call or stick a note on Ebay.I have decided to add a note: This is a craft//boat/vessel/narrowboat and they sit, or in fact float, in water in all weathers and do get dirty and sometimes rusty. It is not a car that you can have a gang of Roumanians polish up. If you were stood in water for 4 years you might need attention and boats do for sure. They also need a mooring spot, not cheap. A little engine maintenance is needed but that is tiny. You also need a River Licence and thats an unavoidable rip off. I say this because there is loads of interest and she is a smashing narrowboat. But a lift out should be allowed for and that is £1,000 but will last for four years at least. Barnacles love boats and barnacles love Primrose. Primrose does not care and trots along quite happily without attention but it must be done. She weighs 7 tons and will not go on a trailer behind your Subaru. If you are on the Ouse or well versed in navigating her out into the Wash and back in again further up or down you will not get her to another Marina elsewhere in the UK. Think lift out, a bit of touch up and a hug and you are there. I do not want anyone to take her who does not appreciate her. The interest is so high now I thought I had best say something. I ran it today right on the button!
