RARE OPPORTUNITY TO PURCHASE A BESPOKE BUILT 47' OCEAN CRUISER THAT HAS SUFFERED SOME LIMITED ELECTRICAL FIRE DAMAGE MAINLY TO THE WHEELHOUSEThis is a bespoke built, engineer designed, and professionally built, long hall sailing yacht with heavy duty quality fittings throughout. The full 6' 6"and 6 berth accommodation comprises the spacious wheelhouse/saloon leading steps down forward to the well proportioned galley to the starboard side, with the main heads opposite on the port side, then forward to a pair of master double cabins, each with their own heads to the bow, complemented by a pair of private single cabins to the stern accessed by steps directly from the rear of the wheelhouse/saloon.The sail room is at the bow accessed via a sturdy deck hatch. Steering is by way of a single 42" wheel in the cockpit complemented by Autohelm from the wheelhouse/saloon.Auxiliary power is from a Ford 6 cylinder 6 litre 125 hp normally aspirated diesel engine which is unaffected by the damage, still runs fine and provides more than enough performance to control this maneuverable vessel. There are 4 sails with this vessel, main sail, headsail and 2 genoas.A full survey made at the time the second owner purchased the vessel some years ago is available which gives a good indication of the quality of construction of this fine yacht. With the yacht is a large file containing many of the original drawings, wiring diagrams, construction certificates etc..This is a 'Sail Away' project yacht that should appeal to the discerning and serious deep sea DIY sailorwho could live aboard whilst completing repairs.Despite the limited electrical fire damage, the 6 cylinder diesel motor runs fine and the vessel can be motored or sailed away. The damage is mainly but not only confined to the wheelhouse/saloon, centred around the electrical distribution board.Apart from electrics and electronics in the wheelhouse/saloon, the limited damage is mainly to ceiling panelling and upper wall surface panelling in the wheelhouse with no reported structural damage. As the vessel was moored on the marina, professional fire fighters were in very quick attendance which accounts for the limited damage sustained. However, they were also responsible for breaking the wheelhouse windows in order to quickly stem the problem. The vessel is currently moored afloat on a well equipped marina by Enkhuizen, a picturesque Dutch town on the west side of the Zuiderzee.Indications are that the mooring is available and rates are extremely reasonable compared with UK marinas. With only minor repairs, to internal nav light wiring and windows etc., this vessel could be sailed back to the UK pretty much as is. With a pre-incident value in the region of £100,000, offers are invited in the region of £25k.Viewing by arrangement please.
