Classic Hurley 18 For Sale Hurley 18 - 3 Berth Pocket Yacht. Ongoing refit project. Hull and deck are sound, the work required is mostly cosmetic rather than structural. The interior has been cleared and mast/spars/rigging removed. She is currently berthed ashore in Fowey, Cornwall. Included in sale: 5 HP Seagull outboard with forward/reverse gears plus mobile stand and spares.2 x new beaching legs.New warps and mainsheet.New hand-held VHF.New man-over-board equipment.2 x new automatic life jackets.Original sails - still functioning but not efficient.Aluminium mast and boom.Original running and standing rigging - blocks and halyards need replacing.Internal hull linings - for use as templates if relining preferred to painting.Internal berth cushions - need recovering.Battery, top light, port/starboard running light, radar reflector, and fog horn.Some prepared woodwork. Work required: New Interior woodwork - 2 cabin sole boards and cross bearer (cut but not fitted), 3 x new internal locker covers, and a battery box.New electrical wiring - for navigation lights and instrumentation (if required).New sails - originals are included but could do with replacing.New running and standing rigging - new forestay and backstay bottlescrews, halyards, blocks, plus reefing gear.4 x new berth cushion covers plus new infill cushion and cover.New port lights.Re-paint mast/boom and re-rig.Re-paint/re-gelcoat hull and deck externally.Re-paint or reline internal hull.Re-varnish exterior/interior woodwork. History: Her sail number is 516 but I have been unable to find a yard/production number or manufacturers plaque to ascertain the year of her build but it is most likely to be late 70’s/early 80’s. Hurley Marine went bankrupt in 1974. However, the moulds went to various companies including Western Approaches, South Coast Marine (SCM), and Ravensail, who continued to build them until 1991. It is probable that one of the latter companies built her as a home completion kit. Her last owner used her as a day-sailer for local inshore racing hence the lack of instruments.
