UPDATE: Interested? Why not ask a question and arrange a viewing? We'd be delighted for you to come and see her.
Looking for one of the best trailer-sailers on the market? Big enough for a family of six, but small and light enough to tow behind the family car, the water-ballasted Catalina 250 solves a lot of problems for those who don't want to keep their boat on the same berth each year, or simply like a regular change of cruising grounds. Surprisingly light and spacious below decks, this engaging small yacht looks just right. I like its many clever touches, such as the way the hatch garage pops up to increase headroom, and the saloon table that lives in its own dedicated space under the forepeak when not in use, but can be quickly deployed in the saloon or cockpit as required. Re-engined in 2010, the package includes a purpose-built trailer. We've sailed her around Chichester Harbour,  in the Solent and around the Isle of White for the past five years. We are now offering her (reluctantly) as our teenage children are doing more and more dinghy sailing / racing and she is not getting enough use to justify keeping her. We have a bank of many happy memories with family days pottering about in her.We chose her above other similar vessels as Catalina have an excellent reputation for sail boats (especially in the USA) and she out performs other such as the McGregor, Sportina and Jaguars that aim to meet a similar target market. She is exceptionally well built with holly / teak floor inside and solid GRP construction. She is extremely low maintenance with Copper Coat anti-fouling and zero exterior wood (except the removable tiller). She comes with a fully battened mainsail, which explains her great sailing characteristics and a fully furling genoa which makes for easy handling. Reefing is via three simple slabs. The main halyard and jib sheets are all led back to self tailing winches. She hosts a colour GPS mapping system and a separate depth / log as well as a DSC VHF radio and usual deck gear (full set of fenders, warps, anchor and chain etc). The mast lowers via a nifty system involving the trailer and a couple of estra lines and I am happy to give some assistance to whoever is the next owner to show them the procedure we have developed that make this a ! adult + 1 child job even on a windy day. (On a still day, I have done this by myself quite easily).I am happy to email further photos to anyone who would like them, or to discuss viewing or offers!
She is also advertised on www.boatshed,com as item 213520
