This is our gorgeous circa 1940's Motor Cruiser, the Juney "B". This spotted gum hull with Douglas Fir decking was built originally as a Navy Pilot boat at Cockatoo boats yards. She underwent a conversion to a fishing trawler around the mid 50's operating out of Eden for many years. In the late 60's she was discovered in the Maribyrnong river as merely a hull with some decking. She was brought back to life by the owner previous to me in the 70's being completely fitted out to a high standard. At the time the hull and structure were completely intact. I purchased this fitted boat 15 years ago when she needed refurbishment. Due to neglect I have replaced almost the entire decking with hand selected fine grain clear Douglas Fir and some of the deck beams and knees were also in need of replacement. The entire trunk cabin has also been replaced, as has the entire bulwarks and handrails. She has new interiors, helm, rewired etc. We have repowered her with a 7 litre Volvo Penta turbo coupled to a Twin Disc gearbox only completer around 500 hours.. This boat is simply gorgeous and unique and over the years I have enjoyed many family excursions and many fishing trips on her. She comes with a full survey, has just been antifouled etc.
She is 42 feet length, beam is 13'6", with a draught of just under 5'. A cruising speed of around 8 knots with the hugely powerful and reliable engine ticking over at 1800 rpm. I have spent over $220,000 on her on top quality work by renown shipwrights and mechanics. I have a genuine reason for sale, I will be sad to see her go but happy for you to be the next person to enjoy her majestic lines and amazing seaworthiness. She is currently moored at Sandringham Victoria. Please message me for an inspection before bidding.
