Up for auction here is a brand new steel yacht hull.5 years in the constructionDesigned by the famous English Naval Architect, Alan Pape who also designed the Saltram 40's and other yachts up to 70 ft.This hull is a Ebbtide 36Designed as a true Bluewater world class cruising yacht.Alan Pape, of the Curtis & Pape boatyard in Looe, Cornwall, designed the Ebbtide 33 and 36 yachts as heavyweight cruisers, aimed very much at long-distance sailing. Built of hard chine steel, with a short doghouse on a semi-flush deck, and a transom-hung rudder, Ebbtides have been built with sloop or cutter rigs, and some later boats had a slightly taller rig.Alan Pape's Ebbtides are one of the classic long-distance yachts, with a long full keel, transom-hung rudder for strength and ease of installation of a windvane.Pictures 2 and 3 show a completed 36 ft EbbtideComes with a full set of detailed architectural drawings with additional copies of laminated construction plans.Coach House , Cockpit and rear deck area require completion otherwise fully welded ,abrasive blasted and primed protected hull.It will require final minor spotblasting internally/externally when all steelwork/welding is completed.It is otherwise protected by Jotun 2 pack epoxy primers.Without any doubt in my mind that this is one of the finest welded yacht hulls that I have seen.There is not one ounce of fairing been laid on this hull.It is dead straight on all planes.It is very rare to see such a straight steel hull.Has to be seen to be believed.There is enough 4mm brand new steel sheets/flat bar etc to complete the coach house/cockpit/rear deck area included in the sale as well as the fully laminated rudder/fittings.Has integral diesel/water tanks built into hullWe are able to assist with other marine trades such as marine engineers/riggers/painters/shipwrights etc in the local area you are able to engage.We also operate an onsite Abrasive Blasting /Protective Coating business where this boat is currently sited.If you were ever considering commencing a build or have a desire to take one to completion this is definitely NOT the opportunity to be missed.Sure, steel hulls do come up for sale on the market -but not like this one.Generally they are rusty, warped and/or never ending stories All the real hard work has been done here - fastidiously and professionally.
