Twin bilge keel so can sit on the bottom as the tide goes out.My Dad gave me the boat when he stopped sailing and although I had plans to get it in the water, so far this hasn't happened. Selling it to fund dinghy for my 8 year boy who's just discovered sailing.Secure stored in Devon near Exeter - unfortunately there is no trailer so you need to arrange pick up.It is in good condition for its age and is sea-worthy. Needs some TLC here and there. Comes with outboard motor as per the pictures."So what do you need to do to the boat to go sailing. Apart from the obvious of raising the mast again, the minimum answer is not much. You must get the outboard motor checked and serviced. Otherwise Winegum is ready to go unless something untoward has happened,There are things that need to be done some time:1) The seacocks, all three of them, are rusted up and solid. The good news is that they are stuck in the right position. Two of them are to drain the cockpit of any water that slops in. They are stuck open which is fine! The third one is the drain from the dinky little sink inside the boat. It is rusted shut so you can’t use the sink, but since the sea is just outside the cabin you can chuck any dishwater overboard! 2) The PortaPotti needs to be checked. I have no idea whether it works or not. It should, but we never used it; we had the bucket for peepee and toilets on shore.3) There is a light at the top of the mast that has never worked. The bulb probably needs replaced, but since I never had the mast down before I couldn’t fix it. The wiring from the mast also needs fixed/replaced. This is an easy job.4) You probably want to buy a new echo-sounder. There is one on the boat, but it was the cheapest available and I didn’t install it permanently and my temporary installation never really worked properly. Do it properly.5) If you get into sailing, you probably want to buy a self-furling jib and a new jib sail. If you had extra cash, you could buy a new main as well but that can wait. The sails are old, but they work well enough. The advantage of a self-furling jib is that you can furl (wind in) the sail without going up to the mast. It makes life quite a lot easier. I have been promised half a furling jib at least eight times but never got one, boo hoo,,,,,6) The headlining was falling off in places. I suspect it will all have fallen off by this time. It needs renewed with something.Winegum is a solid little boat. It looks and behaves like a proper yacht. It takes two people to sail it because the engine sticks out over the back and somebody has to keep the boat going in the right direction while the other is hanging over the back trying to get it to start. The motor is only a couple of years old and has been very reliable since I’ve had it."
