Red Jacket trailer sailer looking for someone to love her. I've had Shirralee for over 30 years and in our early days had many pleasurable days and overnight stays on multiple waterways. She needs her keel osmosis repaired, her hatch timber replaced to help keep the water out and general sealing around deck fittings. I painted her with house paint that is peeling off and could come off well with a high pressure clean. There are no cushions and her insides need rebuilding. There is a stainless steel outboard motor mount that needs new ply or treated pine. All her mast, boom, rudder, stainless rigging, most ropes, pulleys and lines are in excellent condition,There is one mainsail which has been repaired where the rope was coming away and it still looks fine, one jib and a small storm jib.Deck fittings are in need of attention to make sure they are safe and won't fail on your first outing.I put in a proper hatch for access and ventilation. I installed winches for the main sail and jib sheets to tighten up for a 'closer to the wind' sail and she is a really comfortable boat to sail with one, two or three crew or a family of four as an overnighter. Her trailer is no good. I have intended for years to build another and get it hot dip galvanised but time has got the better of me. I have collected a bunch of good gal. steel to build one with and a rough plan to use (most of the details are in my head) that will drop the travelling and launching height by 30cm which is important at low tides. The steel will be included in the sale. You will need a car trailer to move her or for a large fee (insurance) I can deliver her to Sydney, Central Coast, Wollongong areas. She is in Turramurra now with good access to load her up.I'd love to see her back on the water well loved rather than as a mooring minder. She is not registered. If you only want a mooring minder, contact me and I could sell just the bare hull with minimal fittings but she'd still need some fixing to stay afloat longterm.
