1968 Chris Craft 38ft Commander It is exceptionally unlikely you will find such a pretty and classic boat of this year and type in anywhere near as good condition… And certainly not for as fair a price. Freshwater only since the early to mid 70s (approx.), it has been meticulously maintained by the current owners as a family boat since 1988. Virtually everything has been rebuilt or refreshed at some point, including a substantial updating to the original décor (see pictures, original layout has been maintained). Bright and airy, she generously sleeps 6 with a full galley including hot water, electric 3 burner stove, fridge and microwave. Two (original) built in air conditioners keep the living area and large upper lounge cool. The head has an electric toilet, and shower with built-in basin. The rear deck provides ample area for seating or fishing, and the flybridge has seating for 6. There are full pilot stations in the lounge and on the bridge, with a foldable bimini awning for shade. A windlass is included for the anchor rode, and a 7.5kW Kohler generator provides AC power. A teak swim ladder is included, as are brackets for a swim platform. The swim platform has never been installed, only the teak strips would be required to complete. Built in Ft. Lauderdale Florida, the boat was originally outfitted for Sport Fishing, and includes a large insulated fish box, outrigger brackets (outriggers not available), and pockets for fishing rods. Both engines have been rebuilt, and have seen less than 100hrs since. The 300hp (each) 427 Ford engines are essentially the AC Shelby Cobra motors. These are highly sought after engines, and could substantially offset the cost of a diesel refit should it ever be considered. A full list of equipment can be provided if requested, but all electronics and safety equipment are included in the sale price.Boat is located on Lake Ontario between Toronto and Niagara Falls.
