Van De Stadt Carribean 40 Deck saloon type. Price reduced for quick sale £39,750The hull of this yacht was built by Morven Marine and completed in 1991, it was fitted with a new Lancing marine ford diesel. It was transported to Suffolk and there it stood, under a tent until 2004. It was then transported to Essex and fitted out. It took 4 years and a lot of money spent and finally first launched in 2008. So although I state 1991 construction it is registered 2008 Sailed over to Holland, Denmark, circumnavigated the UK and enjoyed for 3 years until lifted out in 2011 for antifoul and maintenance. Unfortunately, at that point, the owner died. There it stood until I purchased it in 2014. My intention was to use it for what it was designed and built for. To sail to the Med then over to the Carribean and who knows where from there. Unfortunately last year I suffered a back injury and have realised that I must change my plans and instead of sea travel I must cruise the inland waterways of Europe. Less demanding on my back. So I must sell this beautiful yacht. Anyone who knows yachts knows the Van De Stadt is a fantastic sailing yacht and knows this hull design is wonderful to sail. Built of Cor Ten steel it is strong enough to withstand all that is needed, the 61hp Ford is so reliable, only 780 hours from new, runs perfect and is extremely economical. The sails are in fantastic condition, the spinnaker is like new in its bag. It has all the navigation equipment and a good internal layout, sleeping 6 in three double beds, a good sized galley, oven with 2 ring hob, fridge and lots of storage, a good sized heads with sea toilet, holding tank, basin and a separate shower. Inner helm and deck saloon so you can see out. It is light and airy inside . 115 gall water tank 40 gall fuel tank 40 gall holding tankThere is a bimini with removable rear and side panels and spray hood, making a winter cover for the cockpit. If windows were sewn in this would make a perfect spray hood.If you look for other Van De Stadt Carribean 40's you can see that they are asking around £60,000 with much more wear and tear on them. I was advertising this yacht at £47,500 and at that it is a bargain. I am reducing the price to £39,750This is a 2008 yacht, yes it is a DIY fit out but by no means is it shabby, it is not a fixer upper, you can sail this away, around the world tomorrow. There are things that you would want to do to it for your own choice but it is a fantastic yacht at a bargain price.
At the moment I am repainting it topside and if you wanted to buy before painting is finished I would reduce the price. It has a solar panel fitted to the rear gantry, if you don't want it I will remove it and reduce the price. It has a 4.5kw Fisher panda generator which is not working, easy fix but if you don't want it again I would remove it and reduce the price. If you are looking for a yacht to sail seriously then this is the one. Built to sail anywhere around the world in safety and comfort. So you could buy this yacht as it stands, generator (not working but easy fix) and solar for £39,750 for this yacht is the bargain of the century.. I would consider a Dutch cruiser as exchange or part exchange, over 36' 07460330500 Ian
