Here we have my beloved Eagle 525. (HOOF) For Sale by Auction I have had her for a few years now and She has been a joy to own. I used to live 65 miles from the sea so a trailer sailor seemed the best option this avoided costly mooring fees and if I needed to play about with Her she was on the Drive. After doing a lot of research the eagle 525 seemed to tick all my boxes with great reviews. At 17ft she is a sensible size to toe, launch and store. She is very stable and easy to sail.    I had never sailed a boat in my life before owing HOOF. The only reason that I am reluctantly selling Her is that I have now moved to the South Cost and able to move on to a bigger boat. The trailer has been extensively upgraded from the original bunk setup and is now an all roller coaster this allows for very easy launch and recovery the new set up removes the need to dunk the wheels on  launch and recovery. The Barings, Mudguards, and brakes have all recently been replaced. Hoof was the very first Eagle 525 that Morton Boats built and spent the first few years of Her life being taken around to all the boat shows. She was equipped with all the best gear and as far as I know is the only one with a Holt Allen Mast. She has spent most of her life on Rutland Water. The sails are in good order and the mainsail carries the number 101 the fore sail is the self furling type. Both sails are controlled from the cockpit so the boat can be sailed single handed. The engine is a 5hp Mercury that sits in a well at the back of the self draining cockpit and has been well maintained and had very little use the boat also comes with an electric outboard that was used on Rutland Water by the previous owner and simply plugs into a battery kept charged by a solar panel. Hoof is made of fibre glass and has Twin Lifting Keels that are controlled from the cockpit, with them up the boat will float in a foot of water enabling the boat to navigate places that others can’t reach. When down the Keels drop about a meter making her very stable. Me and my Son are a couple of big guys both about 18 stone and can both stand on one side without causing any problems. Hoof is equipped with a compass and Clipper log to show the depth The speed function is not working. She also has full Navigation Lights Hoof also has a full specially tailor made cover to keep the weather off when stored on the trailer Stainless steel swim Ladder and an Anchor with chain and warp. The original literature states that this accommodates 2 Adults + 2 small children in reality this boat is a day sailor 4 can sit inside out of the weather. 2 Adults could sleep in her. We often sailed her with 3 or 4 adults on board but most of the time it was Me and my Son we would sail out and do a bit of fishing have a couple of beers and some food then come home. This is a really smart outfit anti fouled and ready to go. She is listed at a price to sale with no reserve.
