Here I have for sale my Shakespeare Mustang with 90HP PTT Yamaha and good trailer. She has been extensively refurbished and restored with full custom paint and re-upholstered interior. THE GOOD BITS
I have given her a complete top down refurb she was badly painted and was bizarrely named as you can see from the
pictures you can also see a picture of when she was completely
stripped down and the whole thing being repainted
with marine grade epoxy paints prior to being repainted she had been sanded down completely back to the original gel coat.
The paint job is custom flake with blue and hologram flake god knows how much this would have cost to get done by a company
£1000+ I would imagine given how much work went into it it looks cool enough inside
but once you get it outside in the sun
this is when it comes alive it is like a complete rainbow across the whole hull the paint alone cost me well over £250.
She was re-carpeted after an inspection of the floor was undertaken the floor is completely solid and will last a long time as yet. I also had the interior completely re-upholstered the two front seats were from the existing seat frames just recovered
with new foam and vinyl etc but the rear bench seats and the side pads and dash pads were completely remade from scratch
as anyone who has had anything re-upholstered knows this cost me an obscene amount of money and will last for many years.
The electrical system was given a tidy up with some new nav lights and new mechless stereo and 4 marine speakers fitted. The engine cover was usable but a bit tatty so it was given a bit of paint and a new graphic scheme the engine runs sweet as a
nut and
powers this boat lovely you do the math 14.5ft boat plus 90hp engine = wow .... non of this 17ft boat with a 35 HP nonsense
this thing gets
up on the plane faster than shit sliding off a hot shovel and is quite fun with the foot throttle she also has an almost brand
new prop and I will
chuck in the stainless prop I have as well (needs the rubber hub replacing but can be done) I would recommend the
engine is serviced before
you take it out but thats up to you it starts and runs as it should the only thing of note is that when my engineer
checked it over and serviced it
last time he noted that it did not have a thermostat but that it didnt really effect it it just took a little longer
to warm up he did offer to put one in but I would rather it took a little longer to warm up than have it fail and overheat.
I had a ski pole made for me to my design which has been installed but has never been used it is made from stainless but isnt marine grade
so does rust a bit a wipe over with spray grease or some such
would protect it and it isnt going to rot through its been made to be strong as
hell and last forever.
The trailer is like new bearings are good and I will try and give them a grease up but this tows like a dream tyres are all good. Has a good leisure battery which I will charge up and possibly a spare if I can find it.
BAD BITS
So those are the good bits now there are some bad bits which I just havnt got around to sorting as a) I havnt had time and b) I need
it gone as im losing my storage facility and
ive got nowhere for her to go plus my wife has MS and does not like going out in it at all so
i'm putting the money towards a nice caravan instead.
The teleflex steering cable needs replacing it works but at full lock it will slip a couple of teeth which is a bit unnerving when it
happens to be honest its been like that since I
bought the boat 3 years ago it never really bothered me but it does really need doing. I replaced the primer bulb and redid a few joints between the bow tank and the engine but for some reason it is losing fuel pressure as
last time we were out it would lose power but if you re-primed the
lines it would go again could be a crap primer bulb or there is air
getting in somewhere I have asked my engineer who thinks its to do with the fuel lines I will try and get him to check
the pump etc on
the engine before it goes but I just dont have the time to go through the lines and find out whats going on but for someone with the
time it should be an easy fix.
I think thats about it I spent nearly 6 months and a whole pile of money getting her to where she is now the boat cost
me £2500 3 years ago I have easily easily spent £1500 on it since I think
if I hadnt done the spray job myself
the cost would have been closer to £2.5k.
Things that come with it ... fuel tank is bow mounted so obviously comes with it there is a small folding anchor with chain and warp
I have a 2 man ringo that can go with it and various ski's and stuff if
I can find them before it goes I am in the process of moving out of my
workshop storage so things are a bit manic at the moment so dont whinge if i cant find them best to say they are a brucy bonus if
I can
find them if not sorry but they arent part of the deal there is also a set of flush muffs for the engine probably a few other bits as well but
they will be brucy bonus's as and when or if I find them .
I picked this up after several months of searching as I wanted something that had a sound hull a good engine and a good trailer as
alot of the time a boat has either a crap trailer or the engine needs work
or the hull is scabby yes there is a couple of bits that do need
sorting on it but once they are done this will be a cracking little outfit for anyone easy to launch and powerful enough to have alot of fun with .
Ive tried to be as honest as I can about it by all means come and have a look but please no tyre kickers I really havnt got the time to be
messed about you want it come get it, I dont mind in fact I expect a bit of haggling
but piss takers will be sent packing the asking price
is pretty reasonable considering everything thats been done and what it cost me I know I'm not going to get my money back thats
the price of owning a boat but that doesnt mean to say I will give it away.
Any questions please ask obviously this is cash on collection or a bank transfer is acceptable but funds will need to be cleared
before the boat goes anywhere I'm not stupid and wont take kindly to scammers or con artists
I would prefer it to be
collected in person but delivery could be arranged but obviously not delivering it 200 miles away without the cash in my bank or hand
before it leaves.
Also forgot to add that it comes with a full cover as well !
