Up for sale is a vintage racing Hydroplane with a tunnel hull. The boat was built by John Kavalac & Richard Cross in 1968 or 69 to race in APBA sanctioned events. The boat is 13 feet long and approx. 5 feet wide. It is constructed entirely out of wood with the exception of the nose cone (cowling) which is lightweight fiberglass. The boat is covered with marine grade mahogany plywood top and bottom. The boat was raced only 2 or 3 times, and was powered by a 44 cu in Mercury with a racing lower unit. With that set-up, it would run 70+ mph according to a Keller speedometer. The boat is equipped with steering and assoc. Cables, brackets for fire extinguisher, speedometer and additional aluminum plates used in mounting the motor (Merc.44 cu in) to transom. There is NO motor or trailer. A Keller 30 to 110 mph speedometer is available for an additional $100. The boat is on the West side of Lorain, Ohio and is easily accessible by several Interstates and the Ohio Turnpike.
