You are bidding for the Draco 1700 Topless boat pictured. It has been unused for nearly 5 years and requires recommissioning and some love and attention. This boat is being sold due to an unexpected bereavement, I cannot speak to the previous owner with questions regarding condition of boat, engine or trailer so I will have to sell it as a non runing project vessel. The work that I can see it needs is as follows:The exhaust elbow section needs replacing, these are £142 on ebay. The rubber drive shaft boot needs replacing.Needs a battery and a drain plug. There is a spare starter motor in the boat so it might be there to replace the one that is fitted. The trailer covered 20 miles to get here today, one side has a new hub, wheel and bearings but it does not have brakes and one side has old bearings so might not be road worthy. The canopy is usable but very worn out, also missing the rear sections and rear poles. The boat is in its original gel coat and as its 40 years old it really needs to be painted also someone has used the wrong paint for anti-fouling so it needs striping and painting below. The boat needs seats and side trims around the side hatches however the engine cover and all hatch panels are in good shape.Draco 1700s are known for there excellent sea handling and high build quality which is why they are a very sought after model, this one has the original Volvo Penta 115 petrol engine with a Volvo Penta outdrive with all plates and stamps. Both engine and drive appear to be in good general condition with everything connected, good compression, smooth when turning by hand and the family reported were in perfect working order when last used. As this engine has not been started in 5 years it will need fresh fuel, carb drain/cleaned, oil/filter changed, plugs/contacts cleaned before it is even turned over or you could risk damaging the engine so please don't expect it to be a case of just fitting a battery to get it running. The bilges are clean and oil free and the oils in the engine and drive are clean with no signs of emulsification, points and plugs are also in good condition. All wiring is complete and connected and the electrical systems work so I have no reason to doubt that this was a working boat before being stored. The engine bay has an automatic bilge pump, manual bilge pump, air extraction system, automatic fire extinguisher system. The cockpit is equipped with a hand fire extinguisher, ropes, hand bailing scoop and a bit of spare Volvo Penta oil so everything is in place for an inland water safety certificate. There is a large storage compartment forward of the dash that could be made into a small cuddy and there are 2 storage compartments in the floor. The stern of the boat has a Ski loop, Swim ladder and Auxiliary outboard bracket fitted and these are all in good order, steering is smooth and not floppy. This boat is generally scruffy and needs attention now but has a lot of potential to become a lovely little plaything for someone, the light board is included in the sale as are the straps and a spare wheel and hub for the trailer. Good luck with your bid and if you have a question please feel free to give me a call or text on 07793122121. Nick
