Based on the popular fibreglass Elysian 27 made by Apple yards Lincoln & Co of Ely who later sold a number of GRP hulls. The Norfolk Spitfire was one such boat built as an aft cockpit motor cruiser in 1970 by Bondon of South Walshams with a mahogany superstructure on a GRP hull. The four berth craft measures as the name implies nearly 27ft long x 9.5ft wide and is powered by a 47hp Perkins diesel engine (10407).It has a full canopy and a fold down windscreen (no problem under Potter Heigham bridge!).The 4 berths (1 double 2 single) are within a single cabin along with a 2 burner/grill/oven and sink with a fridge in the cock pit. A new (unused) Jabasco compact toilet located off the galley.
The superstructure was extensively refurbished by Martham Boat Yard in 2014/15 with a part electrical rewire the year before. The pictures show Spitfire before the refit.A boat survey in 2010 gave her a clean bill of health with minor observations. Boat safety certicicate until8-78767678676Norfolk Spitfire is owned by a friend of mine and is currently ashore under cover in Norfolk. I helped him buy her and have been out on her with him. I think she is a lovely boat in generally good condition, particularly for her age. She is a bit special and different to the normal plastic/GRP offerings.Tel. Pete on 07880 501272 or 01271 858236
