MAKE AN OFFER!1979 O’Day 23 sailboat with 8hp Tohatsu outboard, trailer, autopilot, and all new rigging and sails This boat was completely redone for the 2015 season with thousands of dollars’ worth of brand new parts and tremendous attention to detail. Beautiful sailing family boat. You will not need to do anything to this boat! Stable and safe. Shoal draft, swing keel. The hull and deck are original and solid. Perfect running 2005 Tohatsu 8hp outboard fully serviced and ready to go (it is the electric start version with an alternator for charging and I’m guessing it has very low hours based on how it runs). This motor ran across Buzzards Bay to Quick’s Hole twice last summer and ran perfect. It also motors her out of the harbor every trip out. This is a solid boat. Absolutely no soft spots on the deck and no hull damage. As any 37 year old boat would have there are stress cracks here and there and she's not perfect. She’s ready to go and everything that was replaced is high quality and only one season old. She’s no show boat but it certainly is a nice solid boat. SHE’S IN THE WATER NOW! Two fresh coats of bottom paint were applied on 5/14/2016 and she was launched on 5/21. She is in the New Bedford harbor ready to sail from there for the season, sail to your port or load it on the trailer at the Fairhaven boat ramp which is only a few hundred yards away. MOORING RENTAL IN NEW BEDFORD HARBOR IS PAID AND IS INCLUDED UNTIL OCTOBER 15, 2016! – Worth $800 alone! You can come and see it BEFORE the auction ends if you like. Please don't make an offer and add conditions afterward. This is the third re-list and is an as-is, where is sale. If you make an offer and I accept you own her. Please have a plan BEFORE bidding and don't figure out that you live 500 miles away after bidding! She is in zip code 02740. After 10/15/2016 you must remove it from the mooring. Single 6000lb axle trailer tows perfect and has very nice industrial tires. **HOWEVER, the axle is very rusty and will need to be replaced before you tow the boat any significant distance** I tow her 10 miles each way and feel confident, I can't vouch for hundreds of miles. BE REALISTIC BEFORE BIDDING -  PLEASE don’t think you will tow this to PA or NJ, it is a big boat and has a 37 year old trailer. The bearings are only a few years old and the hubs are good but the axle is only suitable for local travel with the boat on it. The trailer can be dismantled under the boat to paint or drop the swing keel! Title in hand for the boat, she’s ready for the season. The boat is MA registered through August 2016. The trailer is not titled (MA does not require a title for a 3000lb trailer as it was registered) but it was last registered in 2015 and I have that plate and paperwork so registering it won’t be an issue. Videos can be seen here: All of the following was replaced for the 2015 season: - ALL rigging was replaced! Yes, ALL running and standing rigging (stays, shrouds, halyards, turnbuckles, sheets, etc…) everything was replaced with high quality rigging. Nothing to worry about, nothing to fail! - Main sail with two reef points and 110% jib are new high quality Rolly Tasker sails which have been used 5 times (they were replaced mid-season, two older mainsails, one which looks quite new also, and an older Jib are also included, all very serviceable). The Rolly Tasker sails are still crinkly! The main is currently up under cover. - New Raymarine tiller autopilot! - Cabin was refinished in custom birch wood, looks rich! - New Windex - All navigation lights were replaced - Two new 3 gallon fuel tanks and new fuel line - Custom built oak dining table - Slide-out alcohol stove - Cabin was repainted - New water tank and pump - Custom oak sink - Porta potty - Bottom was stripped bare and repainted with two layers of ablative bottom paint. It was repainted this season and is READY TO GO! - Solar panel and charger - New battery and switch - New switch panel - New compass - New stainless adjustable outboard bracket - New swim ladder - All fittings etc sealed. She was dry as a bone all summer - New bilge pump (she doesn’t need it though…) - New LED cabin lights throughout - Bronze through-hull Garmin sending unit (I had a GPSMAP 740s, the mount is there but the GPS is NOT included) - Swing keel was removed, painted with hard bottom paint, and a new pivot pin and line was installed (no clunking!) - New teak companionway slides - New trailer winch - There’s probably more! I can’t emphasize enough that this isn’t a run of the mill, neglected sailboat. It has truly been gone through and everything has been scrutinized. If you want a turnkey this is it!
