SELLING ON BEHALF OF A FRIEND**PROJECT ** BOAT WAS WATERLOGGED WITH RAIN WATER IT NEEDS WORK ON ENGINE AND INSIDE CABIN AREAItem condition: Used – Water Damage (rain)     Postage: Free collection in person Item location: Bridlington      Year of Registration: 1992    Trailer: IncludedUse: Fresh Water, Salt Water      Manufacturer: Citation      Engine Type: Petrol Type: Cuddy Cabin Engine Manufacturer: Volvo  Length(Ft): 18 Engine Model: 5ltr 200hp       The boat model is a Citation 180 Sports cuddy with a Volvo Penta 5ltr V8 200hp engine, all sat on a Snipe 4 wheel trailer. It is essential that this boat gets some TENDER LOVING CARE and someone with boat experience to take on this project. The boat has become waterlogged with fresh rainwater (not salt water) due to poor storage conditions. The previous owner had spent a lot of time and money spent on the engine. The engine and leg were in great order having had new propeller, leg seals, impellor, steering forks, exhaust riser and manifold, new starter motor, alternator bushes, and a full engine service with new hoses, oil, plugs, leads, distributer and contact set, plus a carburettor rebuild. When serviced to good working order, the Volvo Pentaengine which is known for its reliability and parts are easy to change and much better value than expensive Mercury. The 5ltr engine has plenty of grunt to pull toys but will also tickle along down the river. The passenger and rear seats upholstery need a good clean and the cockpit will need re-carpeting due to water damage (cockpit sides upholstery is original). The hull and cabin top is all original gel-coat and will polish to a nice shine. The blue side stripe graphics are scuffed, but it’s an easy job to peel them off and replace with new ones which are readily available on eBay. The boat has a quality Garmin GPS (model: Map 180) and a Garmin fish finder (Model: 160 Blue) but these are un-tested as we never used them when taking the boat out in the bay. Also included is a JVC stereo, anchor, manual for engine and leg. Again, these are subject to some water damage. At 18 feet it is ideal keep on a driveway, but being an American design is nice and wide so feels like a much larger boat with plenty of room in the cockpit and a handy storage area under the berths in the cuddy cabin.  The cockpit has a lot of space and deep sides so keeps you dry at speed and keeps the kids safe. The previous owner used the boat in fresh water on the Thames, so it has the added benefit of boat safety certificate until 2017. Much of its life was spent in the fresh water of Lake Windermere, so it has not suffered the rot and corrosion you will find on boats left in salt water for long periods of time. Hard to say how old it is, but I think they made this model until 1993. The Snipe trailer is a fully galvanised twin axel with good tyres and brake back function for easy launching. It will need new mudguards and the brakes are not connected. The trailer is in great condition otherwise, so it’s worth having the brakes serviced and connected unless you are only going to use it as a launch trailer.
