Here we have for sale my much loved Wilson Flyer 17ft with trailer and 55hp Yamaha 2 stroke outboard - needs some TLC / project boat I've had this boat since 2006 and done a lot of work on it over the years but I've been unable to use her for the last few years due to not having the time. I wouldn't say the boat is ready for the water and it does need some TLC and some love but I’m sure someone will be able to put some life back into her and bring her back to the water. Ideally I would have liked to have kept her, I've spent many hours bringing her up to scratch but looking at the bigger picture I still have no spare time to use her so she's got to go. The boat comes with a 55hp Yamaha engine and trailer. The trailer has just been overhauled, completely rubbed down and had 2 coats of hammerite. I've Replaced the two brackets at the back and Fitted a brand new winch. The steel wheels were removed, sand blasted then primed and sprayed. The hubs have brand new fully greased bearings. Its not braked as they were cut off when the trailer was made however it does have brake drums and with a bit of modification could be made into a braked trailer but that’s up to you. Could probably do with some new keel rollers and if I can find mine I will add these too. I have just had new mud guard supports made up and welded on. We have to launch her from a natural harbour with no ramp so we literally had to float the boat off which is very hard and not alot of fun. Getting stuck and the wheel digging into the sand was not great. It would be ideal for anyone with access to a slipway. We unfortunately never had the privilege and it got to the point that we didn’t want to take her out. The engine is an electric start 55HP Yamaha 2 stroke which starts pretty much every turn of the key. When we used the boat we never had any problems with the engine running. We never planed properly but I think that’s due to having too many people on-board and probably the wrong propeller pitch for the boat. I will be completely honest and say that the engine isn’t in fantastic condition and some parts could do with replacing but the engine does run (see video below). The biggest problem with the engine is the crack in the lower leg as pictured. The crack hasn't got to the gearbox and no oil has leaked. The crack is only in the exhaust part and could be repaired in the right hands. I have just serviced the engine with a brand new impeller, new gear oil and new gear seal washers on the screws. I have also replaced both the spark-plugs with new ones and cleaned the filter through and sprayed some carb cleaner through the carbs. The engine runs on 100:1 oil mix. We have to use a piece of wood to keep it in the transport position as the holds have rusted. You could probably replace them but we never did. Its an old engine which could do with a tune up and some love. Also just replaced the fuel connector on the engine with a new one as it was split. There is a bracket which allows the gear rods to pivot which has snapped and I have been trying to get hold of a new one, I've sourced one but waiting for the guy to get back to me. The steering works however a little stiff and the metal bracket has rusted by the engine and could do with being replaced. Comes with 2 fuel tanks (1 metal and 1 plastic) and a battery. There is room at the back to house both tanks and the battery is contained inside its own battery box. The hull is sound and never leaked. It has had repairs in the past but we never had any problems on the water. It has a drain hole but I've lost the plug. It is a threaded screw and I'm sure something could be easily found for it. We rebuilt the back end and complete deck area a few years ago and the majority is still sound however there is 1 section on deck (green area as pictured) that needs replacing as rain water sat on it unknown as the cover was split. She has sat on the trailer for the last 5 years and hasn’t seen the water as I haven't had the time. She was and still is one of the best boats I have fished on and can handle quite rough conditions. She slaps a bit in heavy seas but still very safe. Comes with Garmin 120 fish finder and VHF ship to shore radio. She has 4 lights on the deck area and 2 Mylar waterproof speakers. There is no radio at present but if I can find it I will include this also. Otherwise she takes a standard car radio. he has a bilge pump fitted under the white hatch. All the electrics work and all have fused switches. Inside there is 2 sides with storage underneath. I would say that the seats are OK but need attention and some of the wood does need replacing. It used to have carpet on the sides but we ripped it all out to make it easier to clean. You could also do more work inside making her look nice but depending on what your going to want form her will depend how much you would do. I always liked the idea of simply painted as its easier to clean. She has a anchor hatch at the front with an anchor inside on a length of chain and a nice length of rope. She also has a bow roller on the bow. Comes with 1 key for the electric start. There is a cover but is split and no good but you might be able to use it as a template to make another one. There are rails and extras which I will include with the sale but I have to dig them out to be able to photograph them. I will add more pictures in time so please come back and have another look if your interested. Please refer to all photos Sold as seen, No return. I need her gone as shes taking up too much room If you have any questions please ask by sending me a message through eBay. Auction will run till the end Viewings welcome by arrangement postcode EX34 7DG I have tried to be as honest as I can and may have missed details so I welcome any questions. Thanks for looking
