1949 Higgins Runabout Speed Boat This is an exceptional original Higgins with great hardware and appointments. A Gray Marine 225 V8 Fireball has been added making this a very quick and desirable runabout. Comes with quality dual axle L&M steel trailer made custom for the boat in 1988.
Trailer has surge brakes, alloy wheels with new tires. Trailer in excellent condition. Trailer alone is worth $2000 dollars. It has a dual bow spot lights, working factory correct siren, beautiful original gauges and controls including the original Higgins gas pedal.
Following engine inspection its appears the engine is very low time with clean valve train, correct even compression check, and oil filter with no debris.
NOTE: Although this boat is beautiful and period correct you will need to make wood repairs and modification to the main structure due to the increase in
engine weight and horsepower. I removed the entire floor board assembly for replacement and had a professional boat surveyor inspect and make recommendations. Hull and structure is completely visible and can be inspected easily from stem to stern. It is more work than I have time to perform and will pass the boat on the next enthusiastic owner.
I paid $4000 for the boat a week ago. It is the best looking boat on the water. I cannot take the time from my current Charles Lindbergh Spirit of St. Louis 2 project to make the needed repairs. See SOS2.com. I am a professional pilot boat owner and very capable of answering all questions
on the phone. The boat is located in Novato California 30 miles north of San Francisco.
It is a great fond for the capable enthusiast. Serious inquiries only. Robert 405-205-7041
