1982 Grady-White 206 Islander. Talk about potential! What you're looking at here is an opportunity. An opportunity to get a pair of the best outboards Yamaha ever produced on a beautiful custom A&J Marine aluminum bracket. Along with all the controls and digital gauges. A pair of Lenco electric trim tabs with indicator controls. Hydraulic steering. Plus, a tough Grady-White walkaround cuddy hull on a very nice galvanized trailer. This was a project 206 Islander that didn't quite turn out as it was envisioned. Frankly, the boat doesn't handle well because there's too much weight at the stern. But our loss could definitely be your gain. She was originally equipped with an OMC "Seadrive," essentially an outboard on an integrated mounting bracket. When that became unserviceable, the decision was made to hang this lovely pair of always-freshwater 130Hp V4 Yamaha outboards on a custom bracket. We did a meticulous installation with very high grade rigging and great attention to detail. When we got to the sea trial though, we realized that we'd upset the balance of the boat and we never really put her into service. She's been run on Lake Michigan for less than 5 hours as she sits! This might be a great boat with one of these 130s on it-- with the other one and the bracket sold off. We think she could be parted out for a LOT more money than we'd be willing to accept for the boat. We've moved on to another Grady project and want to get this boat out of the barnyard, so we'll entertain reasonable offers. The motors and bracket are the value here. As you can tell from the pics, they've never seen saltwater. They're 1989 V4s and are a counter-rotating pair. Everything is in the boat including the 704 dual control binnacle with trim, the digital tach/trim gauges, the speedo/fuel gauge, and water pressure gauges. Oil injection systems are intact and functional with external tanks/pumps. Water separating fuel filters, primer bulbs, etc. It's all there, and all systems work. These 130s are sought out on the east coast for their legendary reliability, and are seen on a lot of workboats there. You'll be able to easily transport her on the galvanized roller trailer which has 4 very good matching tires, bearing buddies and a tongue jack. Also included are a custom whole boat cover (may need some repair), and motor covers. Note that the electric trailer winch shown in the photos will be replaced with a manual winch. Clear Illinois titles for the boat and trailer are in hand. Please email with questions. Boat is in Elburn, IL. |
