Quilla is a boat designed from the Michael Pocock stable and made by
Blue Water Yachts, Jersey.
She was destined to be a racer with the ability to be a cruiser. You can
look up her racing history by looking up Quilla on Liverpool Sailing club, and
others.
She is a boat that likes to be sailed, but is not skittish. My wife and
I have sailed her together across and beyond the channel, and stayed on her on
extended trips. She is logged at sailing over 7 knots and averaging on close to
the wind at 6.3knts.
She is comfortable in rough seas, especially when you have the
confidence to know that her hull will take a lot more than many as she retains
the ½ ton of encapsulated lead underneath.
From when we bought her three year ago, we have turned her from being an
out and out racer into being a boat that will sail but is now comfortable
below, even though she is forgiving to the skipper!
She has two sets of sails converted to furling for the genoa, however I
have the racing hank forestay for the other genoas and jibs.
The is a removable inner forestay; three spare halyards for
spinnaker/jeniker and storm.
All sheets lead back to the cockpit, and clutches abound.
The running and standing rigging were all replaced before I bought. (You
will notice the dedicated non slip raised areas set in epoxy resin and now
painted.
As I have said, she sails because she was made to sail, I have raced her
in ‘Club cruiser races’ but nothing serious, but the response is wonderful and
lets you know before weather helm is going to be an issue; but having needed to
spend days on her, there is enough room to have 4 and not want to throw someone
overboard. She can sleep 6 with I fore cabin, two main in the cabin, with two
cot bunks, and a quarter berth.
The list of equipment is long and the upgrades also.
Two sail sets:

There is so much more to say about this pedigree ½ tonner, so I
would prefer that you come and have a sail and see her for yourself.
This year she has had four coats of Seajet 033 this year. There is no weed on her at date, and a srub would do little to damage the antifoul coatings.
I are selling as I do not get the time to use her as I thought I would,
so she really needs to be left to someone who will sail her and get the most out of this designed racing but now fast cruising yacht.
Any question, please do ask and will be open to serious offers for this classic racer/cruiser. Beware of others in a 1/2 tonner class, many did not sail as well in their class and could not become a comfortable cruiser with so much added for safety and long range sailing which Quilla has.
