Canal and rivercraft of this age are now extremely rare and Sabrina is possibly the oldest Ship Canal Inspection in existence. The vessel is on the National Historic Fleet (No. 62) and took part in the Queens Diamond Jubilee Pageant in 2012. Built by Fielding and Platt, Gloucester in 1870 for the Directors and Engineer of the Gloucester and Berkeley Ship Canal Company as a Ship Canal Inspection Launch. Remained in company service for 72 years and 74 years in private ownership. The hull is constructed with riveted wrought iron plates overlapping fore and aft, butt-strapped vertically, on angle iron frames. Over the years additional steel plating has been added. The hull is painted black with white cabin sides and varnished capping strips.Vessel can be viewed at The Traditional Boat Festival in Henley on the 16 and 17 July.
