Boatyard as the Deacon 33. She was the mould for the Deb 33 glass fibre boats I believe in this regard she was a one-off ie. the only wooden version certainly the only to this specification (Deacons would know I'm sure)
Mahogany planked and splined carvel hull. Teak decks and
coachroof. Laminated iroko frames. Bronze floors Cabin soft furnishing missing as are the cabin soles.
I have the original drawings. Shoal draft with bronze drop keel 7ft 3” keel down, 3ft 6” plate upGold anodised spars may still be available at local boatyardSome inventory including full suit of sails (2 mains) Steel adjustable boat cradleVolvo diesel, will need overhaul
I converted her to yawl, in common with a lot of S and S yachts, one advantage was that I could
set a mizzen staysail!, or sail in heavy weather with storm jib and mizzen. Featured in Classic boat magazine some years ago Peter
Phelan author and photographer. Fast and beautiful cruiser, absolute show stopper when up to scratch! Last trip across Biscay, Falmouth to La Coruna in 3 and a quarter days.At the conclusion of any deal the new owner is to take on yard fees and all costs to do with cranage and transport.
