Stubby is a 1970’s Mirror dinghy. For more details check out these websites. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mirror_(dinghy)In NSW there is an active Mirror class – The NSW Mirror Association website is http://www.imcansw.org/Although she is unlikely to win any titles she has been refurbished to give her another life as a learner and introductory boat for adults and kids a role that this dinghy was designed for..Typically the weaknesses at this age on original boats are corrosion of bronze stay bolts, cleats and peeling paint and seams.This one has had all the ageing problems fixed and is fit to race and very seaworthy. She is being sold as the previous owners have bought a bigger boat having learned the basic skills. She has also had some modern items added to make her easier to sail and store better. These are:Modern jib cleatsnew fairleads and base plates to make the jib easier to handle – the modern wayInspection hatches on all built in buoyancy tanks so they can dry out easily when out of the water.New mainsail by Walker sails – almost new conditionCentre pull mainsheet with ratchet block– standard practice taught these days.Venturi or self bailer for draining water automatically or on landUnlike most other boats that come up for sale at this sort of price this one needs no work at all and is ready to sail.
