This is a rare opportunity for anyone interested in a classic sloop. The L16 was designed by A. E. Luders in the 1930's. This particular boat, sail #266, was built in the 1950's. Her hull and deck are fibreglass, aluminum mast, boom, and spinnaker poles, lead ballast keel, and teak seats and trim. She is a miniature version of the America's Cup boats of the 1930's and 40's, 26 feet long, 5'-9" beam, 16' on the waterline, and 4' draft. Her displacement is 3000 lbs. She is one of the most beautiful boats you will ever see. ZIP is in excellent condition. She comes with an inventory of 9 sails: main, 2 jibs, 3 genoas, 2 spinnakers, and a blooper. She is very fast, but with a 1600 lb. fin keel, she is very stable and manageable. The price of $9,500 Canadian includes all 9 sails, mast, boom, 2 spinnaker poles, and a custom trailer. The boat is in Whiteshell Provincial Park in Manitoba. Contact Keith at 204-793-3634 or email To learn more about the L16 class, go to L16.org
