Located Island of Lefkas, GreeceThis is an absolute Bargain for the right personUnique Opportunity for the right buyer to have a business opportunity in stunning area of GreecePurchase a share or whole boatThinking of leaving the rat-race in the UK and living your dreams in a very comfortable apartment style Boat with ALL facilities and the ability to move mooring and sail the IonianI have laid out information on a website (would also come with the boat) www.aura-lefkas.netAs a brief background let me give you an overview of this boat and it's history. I want to be as honest and clear as i can in complete transparency, wooden boats are not for the feint-hearted. There are thousands of photos of every stage of renovation which i am happy to share with you.I bought AURA 4 years ago for 35.000 euros, sadly it was in a very poor state of disrepair, hidden by an unscrupulous seller. In the first week, i found that the hull was leaking and the boat had sunk several times previously, the decks were leaking and i could have literally thrown it away as firewood (sometimes i wish that i had, although as firewood needs to burn, it would have taken some time.I immediately set about getting major repair work completed and realised quickly this was no easy or cheap fix. Off to the boatyard and three visits later, finally the hull was completed, new planks and caulking, heavy beams of Iroko, New Iroko ribs along with wood treatment, I basically took the whole boat down to the ribs ripping out the interior completely. At this time i had the engine completely overhauled, salt water damage to valves, starter motor, batteries, etc etc, meant replacing all the major components and a lot of the minor ones too. Luckily the Volvo Penta Diesel engine 165hp is very robust and now runs beautifully, for an engine that is probably the original 1969 one.As the boat was stripped to the ribs, i replaced all of the plumbing and electrics from new. New water/fuel tanks, boiler and kevlar cabling. This whole process took over two years and the hull refit alone cost me 40,000 euros.AURA was now seaworthy, although the decking hid a multitude of horrors to come, it was dangerous to walk on board and was taking on water that would just continue to rot the hull, so yet another visit to the boatyard and new decking.I want to be completely honest and say that the process of replacing decks with new, especially over winter did not have go without problems, but eventually new decks were erected, Iroko beams erected as both structure for the deck, but also extremely robust Iroko planks fitted around the edges ensure this boat is held together for the future safety of it's passengers, another 25,000 euros for the work and materials and now AURA looks like a solid clean and beautiful boat, during this process i had to make a decision regards the functionality of AURA as a sailing boat or cruiser, whilst sails and masts look very pretty, they are pretty much for show, Gulets weigh in the region of 25 tonnes and i decided the deck space was far more attractive as a cruiser.Once back in Harbour I set about the interior design and various external enhancements. Having a blank canvas has it's advantages, especially knowing now that AURA is seaworthy and has no leaks (a great problem with this style of wooden boat)Cabins were built with comfort, space and luxury in mind, Bow Cabin is a large room that either has one big bed (understatement, you could sleep 4 in there) or take out a middle section and you have two smaller beds (could be used as doubles)Living Area - Large open plan area with table seating that converts to bed for two and sits 5 adults, opposite side sofa bed that could sleep 2 with storage either side.Double bedroom Cabin - Newly fitted double cabin 2m x 1.80 wide Storage and hanging spaceBathroom - Large tiled shower room with changing/drying area, washing machine and towel storage. Ceramic shower tray with enclosed shower door (full size and smoked for privacy) I am 6" tall and shower in comfort unlike most pokey shower rooms on boatsSeparate Toilet with electric macerator.Bridge/Kitchen - sink/gas hob with all mod cons comfortable size that facilitates both inside and outside cooking.Stern Deck - I purchased some 35 year old Brazilian Mahogany which i am particularly proud of and extended the area of the rear deck, this is the first point of entry and having cut the mahogany into 1.5cm depth strips it looks amazing, people will stop and talk about just this area, the social part of the boat, gin and tonic sundowners, seating for 6/8 people possible and i saved the ships table renovating this in particular to look fabulous. I sanded and oiled (10 plus coats) for probably 600 hours both the decking and the table.Fly Bridge - Solid new awning means that this area is covered now and seats again up to six people comfortably. I will at some stage put covers for each side of the awning to allow an extra sleeping area.Throughout the interior, i have used white oak solid wood parquet flooring for both the floor and the walls and in some cases the ceiling, this is top end finish and costs 75 euro psqm guaranteed for minimum of 35 years.Decking - Solid marine ply, oiled and caulked with sycaflex. You could easily allow for ten people sunbathing. The hand rails are new mahogany.During this whole process, i have continued to add value to the boat and on the website www.aura-lefkas.net you will find an Inventory of items. There are various revenue earning opportunities with AURA, which i am happy to discuss with you.I have spent over 120.000 euros on its renovation and am extremely proud of my achievement, there is still around 15% more work to do on her and it would be my great pleasure to finish this work. The problem i have is that my finances are now at a lower ebb :-(I require a partner who is actively able to involve him/herself in the upkeep of such a beautiful boat, or alternatively (although not my preference) take on the job from me.All in all over 4 years i have spent including the purchase over 150,000 euros. Now she is very close to completion.I am making the offer that the boat will be 75.000 euros, it is up to you what share percentage you want either as a share purchase or complete. Starting bid is for 10% share of total price The Inventory lists items like car etc and i would not expect these items to be included as a complete purchase unless you make a separate offer for them. They are for use by the owners but i retain ownership.I have tried to be as honest and transparent as i can be, as i say, the finish is not complete and there will be overheads, but unlike the previous owner i want to be completely clear on what you are buying and who i am.AURA is currently moored in the Marina in Lefkas, which is an extremely beautiful and safe place. The cost is 7.500 per year, although i do have an option to moor for free in nearby Meganissi, with the option of gaining some BNB style rental for it, but i still have 3 months of my contract left in Lefkas. Please feel free to contact me to discuss. My name is Geoff and i live in Austria (although i am English)0043 660 591 2990 or skype Maverick2uThe beauty of a share ownership is that i would only require use of the boat for c8 weeks a year, generally mid April to Mid May and Beginning September for the Month, the peak summer months and winter i am busy, although in recent years due to the amount of work i have spent more like three months in Greece.I hope that this raises some interest and am more than happy to discuss all terms with realistic buyers. It's important as much to me as it is to you that you understand what and who you are buying into. What i expect of myself and what i require in a share partner. As I say, i have thousands of photos and would be happy to share them.I will be in Lefkas on 19/08 and am happy to make appointments to view.
