Up for sale is a 1958 fiberglass Takaba launch. Salt or Fresh Water. Powered by a: U.S. Navy Diesel DA High head Buda 40 HP -- Built in 2001 to factory specs and gently used since. The last time I saw this engine being sold it cost $20,000 used so this boat is worth every penny. This engine will last you a lifetime. You will be hard pressed to find a boat this size with a diesel engine. This engine is very popular and you shouldn't much trouble finding parts for this engine but I doubt you will need anything if you keep fresh oil in it. I have the U.S. Navy service manuals for this engine.
This is a 5-8-knot boat but can go faster with a different pitched prop or a larger prop. This boat will put a smile on your face every time you go out. This diesel engine sips diesel so few bucks will go a long way. They fiberglass launch is in excellent condition and very sea worthy. Freshly painted top and bottom. Overall weight is approximately 2,500 pounds. Custom top has a new Sunbrella blue top which can be installed or removed as needed. The frame that holds the top can easily be removed or added when needed. New VHF radio. Antique compass. Everything works and now ready for a new home.
Comes with tandem trailer shown here. Ask me any questions you like and your welcome to come by and see it in West Palm Beach, FL. No sea trials unless you are ready to commit and buy it.
