ONCE AGAIN FOR THE LAST TIME I AM PUTTING UP MY BELOVED STARCRAFT FOR SALE.  I REMOVED IT LAST TIME AS SOMEONE COMMITTED TO PURCHASING HER OUTSIDE OF EBAY BUT THE DEAL FELL THROUGH DUE TO FUNDING.  SO HERE WE GO AGAIN......THIS IS A CLASSIC 1985 26 FEET LONG STARCRAFT CHIEFTAN WITH ALL ORIGINAL INTERIOR, ENGINE AND DRIVE.  I PURCHASED THE BOAT OVER TEN YEARS AGO FROM AN ELDERLY GENTLEMAN IN WISCONSIN OFF OF EBAY.  THE BOAT WAS KEPT IN A WAREHOUSE AND WAS MATICULOUSLY MAINTAINED.  THE INTERIOR AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE PICS IS STILL IN GOOD SHAPE WITH NO APPARENT TEARS OR FADING.  IT HAS THREE SEPARATE TOPS, A MOORING TOP, WHICH IS IN FAIR CONDITION.  I RESEWED SOME SECTIONS OF IT UNDERNEATH WITH NEW SUNBRELLA FOR REINFORCING AND WILL HAVE A FEW MORE YEARS OF SERVICE LEFT.  I HAD A NEW CAMPING COVER FABRICATED 2 YEARS AGO AND HAS ONLY BEEN USED ONCE, AND IS IN PRISTINE CONDITION.  I ALSO PURCHASED A TEN FEETLONG BIMINI COVER 3 YEARS AGO AND IT IS IN GREAT SHAPE. A SECTION OF THE CAMPING TOP COVERS THE COCK-PIT AREAS, AND IS PRISTINE.  I  SANDED AND REPAINTED THE ENTIRE EXTERIOR OF THE BOAT WITH EPOXY PAINT THREE YEARS AGO.  I SANDBLASTED THE BOTTOM TO RAW ALUMINUM AND APPLIED EPOXY PAINT 2 YEARS AGO AS WELL.  MECHANICALLY, THIS BOAT HAS NEVER FAILED TO START YEAR AFTER YEAR.  THE BOAT HAS BEEN IN SALTWATER ONE TIME WHEN WE TRAILERED HER TO 10,000 ISLE IN FLORIDA AND CAMPED ON HER FOR TWO WEEKS ON THE WATER.  AS SOON AS SHE WAS PULLED OUT OF THE WATER SHE WAS FLUSHED AND WINTERIZED FOR THE TRIP HOME.  I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO TAKE THIS BOAT ANYWHERE DOWN STREAM OR OFF SHORE.  AS NOTED WE HAULED HER TO FLORIDA FROM WEST VIRGINIA AND BACK WITH NO TROUBLE AT ALL WITH THE TRAILER THAT COMES WITH HER.  I BOUGHT ALL FOUR NEW TIRES 2 YEARS AGO AND THE BEARINGS HAVE BEEN REPACKED EVERY YEAR.  DUE TO MY WORK SCHEDULE I DID NOT GET HER OUT LAST YEAR AND ONLY ONE TIME THIS YEAR AND SHE PERFORMED FLAWLESSLY........EXCEPT FOR ONE THING....SO HERE IS THE BEEF.....I FOUND OUT THAT THE TRAILERING TRIM WOULD NOT TOTALLY RAISE THE MOTOR FOR TRANSPORTAION ON THE TRAILER.  I BROUGHT HER HOME AND IMMEDIATELY TESTED AND JUST IN CASE REPLACED THE LIFT SELENOIDS.  TESTED THE WORM GEAR AND ALL WORKED GREAT.  THIS UNFORTUNATELY LEFT ME WITH THE LAST SCENARIO, WHICH IS THE HAMMER-BLOW COUPLING, WHICH INVOLVES PULLING THE MOTOR TO REPLACE.  THE LOWER UNIT TRIM FOR RUNNING IN THE WATER IS NOT AFFECTED, JUST RAISING THE LOWER UNIT FOR TRAILERING.  THE LOWER UNIT COMES UP AND LOCKS IN PLACE FOR TRAILERING WITH HELP FROM A ROPE PULL OR PUSH FROM THE BOTTOM.  NOT VERY HANDSOME AT THE DOCK BUT IT WORKS.  SO IF YOU ENGAGE THE TRAILERING SWITCH FOR THE LOWER UNIT AND PULL ON IT WITH A ROPE IT EASILY COMES UP, JUST NOT BY ITSELF AS IT SHOULD.  NOW WITH ALL OF THIS SAID I AM NOT GETTING RID OF THE BOAT FOR THIS REASON, THE REASON IS IM GETTING TOO OLD TO CLIMB IN AND OUT COMFORTABLY, BESIDES PULLING A MOTOR, AND HAVE DECIDED TO GET A MORE ACCESSABLE BOAT (HOUSE BOAT OR LARGE PONTOON).  I FIGURED THE COST TO FIX THE HAMMER-BLOW COUPLER EITHER DO-IT-YOURSELF OR THE MARINA WOULD BE ABOUT TWO GRAND, SO I HAVE LOWERED THE PRICE FOR MY BELOVED BOAT.  EVEN WITH THE TRAILERING DEFECT I WOULD STILL TAKE HER ANY WHERE AT ANY TIME WITH-OUT A NEGATIVE THOUGHT.  SORRY FORTHE BOOK BUT I WANT TO BE PERFECTLY CLEAR ABOUT EVERYTHING.  THIS BOAT IS OVER THIRTY YEARSOLD SO IT IS NOT PERFECT IN ANY WAY , BUT IT IS STILL A GREAT LOOKING AND RUNNING BOAT FOR HER AGE.....AND MATICULOUSLY MAINTAINED OVER THE YEARS. I WOULD ALSO ENTERTAIN TRADING FOR A GOOD USED PONTOON BOAT OF EQUAL VALUE.  THANKS AND GOOD BIDDING......GOD BLESS!!!!......I FORGOT TO MENTION THE TRAILER....BESIDES THE FOUR NEW TIRES I SAND BLASTED AND REPAINTED IT ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO, UNFORTUNATELY I USED THE WRONG PAINT THINNER AND IT HAS WHAT LOOKS LIKE CRACKS ALL OVER.  FORTUNATELY I USED A RUST INHIBITOR AS A BASE COAT AND THERE IS NOT ANY RUST DUE TO THE CRACKS, IT JUST LOOKS UGLY.  OTHER THAN THAT THE TRAILER IS IN GOOD SHAPE, AND I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO PULL THE BOAT ANYWHERE.  A COAT OF PAINT WOULD DO WONDERS, BUT AGAIN I AM DONE WITH RESTORATIONS AT THIS TIME IN MY LIFE.
