1987 Byliner 2455 Project
Estimated price for orientation: 3 000 $
Category: Cruisers
Class:
Description Condition: Used Year: 1988 Make: Bayliner
This is a nicer 1987 Bayliner 2455. Most of these boats on the market are pretty beaten up, this one is on the cleaner side, but is a project. The owner spent a good deal of time and money on the interior and it shows, the cockpit carpet and all vinyl, cloth are in nice shape and have been re-done.The hull is in good shape with no damage, and has the typical fading on the blue stripes, which will come back nicely with a nice buff and wax. The boat had a macerator, microwave, fish finder, cockpit cover and camper canvas (the isinglass has been stored in a bag and will need to be checked for damage, but appears to be in good condition). The cockpit cover has a 10 inch tear, which can be easily repaired. The helm is in very good condition and does not show damage like so many. The boat also has a storage cover. The project side is the engine, is you looked at the location of the boat, you can guess what is wrong with the engine! Yup typical frozen block up here in Wisconsin, not a weld or JB weld job, you will need a new block. Options are to drop a rebuilt motor in, or find a block and swap all the components. The current engine is a 5.0 four barrel, however you can easily drop a 5.7 in, as the block is the same size. There are also used motors out there in various states, all depends what you want to do. You can track down rebuilt long blocks for as little as $1,600, used motors for even less. The trailer is in good condition with good tires and a spare. The value of the trailer alone is 50% of the price.
