I remember going with my Dad to pick this boat up at Ray Defir's shop on the Columbia River in Corbett, Oregon. I believe it was in 1965, we lived in Klamath Falls, Oregon I was 8 years old at the time. It was titled in 1966 after my Dad and some of his friends put a motor in over the winter months. That summer we were back on Klamath Lake with this new DeFir, the old 1962 defir hit a friends dock and sunk, this was the replacement and has been in the family for the last 50 years. The original Oldsmobile 392 motor was replaced in the late 80's with a 1975 Oldsmobile 455. When the original clear coat started to peel my dad opted to paint it instead of going with the wood look, so it will need to be restored. I talked to Ray about it a few years before he passed  he told me he made 55 all wood boats like this, and it was one of only 3 he knew of still in existence. Restored mahogany boats go for $30 to $50 thousand, I'm not sure what this one is worth. In the garage I have many of the lights and hardware from the 62 boat and I believe a windshield too. I should also add it has always been stored in the garage and it is possible I can deliver it for the price of gas.
