35’ classic dutch steel yacht https://plus.google.com/photos/113423596874857671655/albums/5606474874834860817 web site with photos as she was First photo was in 2005, last photo shows what she could look like, this vessel sold for 59,000 euro This is a strong & beautiful traditional gentleman's sailing yacht, not a work boat, & she is looking for an appropriate home. She requires a substantial amount of work but nothing that a competent DIY enthusiast could not do with the exception of some tidy wielding. By putting in a day’s work each weekend she would be ready for the open seas again within a matter of months. The main jobs are rust around the gunwale, the worst part in the stern is shown in photo 7, the rest is in much better condition. There is a mahogany toe rail all around the vessel & this has sprung in one or two places & will need re-fitting. She does have a lovely mahogany tiller & self bailing cockpit. Sand blasting & treating under parts of the deck, together with other areas of the inner hull that are exposed, again mainly in the stern area, then protected appropriately will complete the main task. I should add the topsides & the hull are structurally sound. The stainless steel stanchions have also caused some corrosion due to galvanic charge between the anchorage posts through bronze feet & the top of the steel gunwale, at some they need to be removed, cleaned & treated, then re-installed with an appropriate gasket between the 2 metals. There is some decay in the woodwork & this has been mainly due to previous owners using DIY pine rather than either treated or hardwood. This is all accessible & quite easily replaced or repaired. Generally the decorative & protective finish by previous owners is rather plebeian & to bring the vessel back to her former glory will need an amount of rubbing down & treating with 6 coats of varnish & suitable paints. Luckily there are not large areas of timber, mainly the toe rail, hand rails, sides of the dog house, & cock pit area. Her original mast & boom are wooden & were taken down for restoration whereupon I decided a new aluminium mast with roller reefing fore sail would be more practical & to this end one has been purchased with all rigging & bottle screws. It is available at a separate cost of £1000 if required, otherwise the original ones with rigging & fittings maybe collect from Lyme Regis & I will sell the new one separately & for a lot more than I am asking here. Included in the sale: · manual windlass although an electric one has been purchased & maybe available if required · 2 Danforth anchorsBeta inboard 4 cylinder 36hp? engine · gas & 12v electric fridge · gas oven, grill & 2 ring hob · SS sink · Nasa Clipper wind speed/direction finder with sister instrument, the mast head equipment has been damaged & will need replacing · Navico Chorus compass · Radar reflector · Horseshoe lifebuoy · Standard Horizon 175C G.P.S. · Depth sounder · Whale gusher titan2 Aluminium support legs (very useful)a substanial fisher fuel tank to be cut up & used to supply steel sheets for repairs, value £100+set of 6 sails with some sheets & battens, appear to be in good order & cleaned but the slugs will need changing for the new mast & boom2 Instruments turn own when tested but if they work as intended I cannot say & no guarantee is given Extras purchased for the vessel but NOT included: · 40' ocean going aluminium mast, boom & roller reefing genoa, fixed steps/supports, with all ss rigging & ss bottle screws. Complete with a foot, Twin spreaders, winches & halyards - £1000 (this entire set is strong & top quality, worth 3 times this price & would be very expensive new) possibly a Selden but there is no name plate.• Compass, very large traditional bronze piece, maybe placed vertical or horizontal in the cockpit - £95 not including postage• Windlass, Simpson & Lawrence of Glasgow, type 800, heavy duty 12v, would need to be wired in but has been reconditioned. £335 + collection/delivery. Photographs are available to any interested parties. I could sell the marine engine on its own for more than the starting price but I think this vessel is well worth the effort & minimal expenditure to end up with a restored traditional classic yacht for an owner with taste. She is currently on the hard standing at Barry Sailing Club well protected against the elements as you can see from photo2. This is a really nice & friendly club with most facilities available, including, hoist lift for boat & mast, shower, bar & dance hall, all at friendly prices as the club is owned by the members. Inspections maybe arranged through me with the club by providing your full name & address together with a contact telephone number & when you would like to inspect.
