I have for sale my Caledonia Yawl which is from the drawing board of Iain Oughtred. She is one of the larger double ended beachboats at 19'6 long and the beam is just over 6 feet. This is the revised 7 strake model.I built her using Robbins Okoume plywood- 9mm for the hull and buoyancy tanks. The majority of the timber in the boat is Douglas Fir, though the side benches are Meranti and there's some Oak trim pieces - tiller etc.She has a balanced lug rig which is very easy to handle and with the mizzen set will sit 'hove to' quite happily. All of the spars are Douglas Fir (solid spars with a central epoxy glue line). This timber was supplied by John Moody. Both the mizzen and lugsail were made by Patrick Selman- a well respected sailmaker for traditional sails. The boat has only been sailed a few times each season. The mast traveller and the centreboard pivot were supplied by Classic Marine. I have a conventional tiller which I used when motoring or sailing without the mizzen and there is a push-pull tiller for use with the mizzen. There are fore and aft buoyancy tanks which are epoxy coated. The hull is painted cream with a red topstrake. The interior of the boat is also painted cream, and the side benches and some trim pieces (knees, centrecase cap etc) are varnished. The spars are varnished. The hull was repainted at the start of the 2014 season and has only been sailed a handful of times since. I keep her on a mooring this season so have antifouled the hull, steel centreboard and rudder blade. The outboard fits in a well so there's need to lean out of the boat to start it, refuel etc. The spars all fit inside the boat. The boat comes complete with a road trailer (I built it myself to ensure that the boat is supported properly, but buyer should check it meets current regulations), made to measure launching trolley (I can launch the boat single handed), 2009 2.5hp Yamaha outboard engine ( very reliable, but the top cover has cracked), rowlocks & oars and a made to measure cover. The steel centreboard is fitted and I have the wooden one as well - it's not difficult to change if you have a preference. The push-pull tiller is fitted at present. I have the standard tiller, and the push pull - which is currently fitted. The boat is located at Dalgety Bay on the Firth of Forth.£6,250. I'm looking for a bigger boat with accommodation for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids so I would consider px/swap. I'd consider a boat that needs work too.
