Triple Keel, great for drying out moorings.
Designed by Roy Lunney in 1972 for Newbridge Boats, the Virgo Voyager is a strongly constructed small cruiser, with good accommodation for its size, providing up to five berths if required, with six foot headroom in the saloon. The high freeboard and cabin top needed to achieve this is disguised considerably by the styling, with wide contrast stripes along the boot-top, under the gunwales, and around the coachroof, where the painted stripe continues the line of the tinted windows. The first boats built were fin-keeled, but later lift keel and bilge-keelers were also built. About 300 boats in total were built, the design continuing in production from 1973 to 1990.The bilge-keeled boats retain part of the stub keel of the fin keel version: on early bilge-keelers this still has the flat base onto which the fin would have been bolted, but later the moulds were altered to make the central vestigial keel more rounded.Pics of what the boat "could" and "would" of looked likehttp://www.yachtsnet.co.uk/archives/virgo-voyager/virgo-voyager.htm6 Berth, Sea Toilet, Slide up and down style Galley Table, VHF, Sails, Automatic bilge pump, Auxillary outboard bracket, Spray hood (Dodger) Stainless stell pull and push pits (All in sound condition) Front opening hatch and the list goes on..To be honest I am not a sailor myself so couldn't comment on that side of it.At some point She has had rain water inside the cabin as the self draining cockpit got blocked with leaves, there is a tide mark on the wood panelling insdide but the wood is still very sound. The headlining has fallen down in a few places and could generally do with a tidy up and home touches, hence me listing as "Project"
Viewing welcome most of the time.
The yacht has been stood for approximately 3 years. Has a Volvo 2010 2 cylinder Diesel engine, I have ran the engine up and carried out the following checks;Starts and runs/revs up, Selects forward neutral and reverse, Passes cooling water out of the exhaust, Charges the battery, Stops. I have replaced the impeller, engine oil, gear oil, fuel filters, engine oil filter and thermostat. The fuel tank is plastic and has been removed, steam cleaned out and reinstated for the run up. The rest of the boat is completely un tested.Priced to sell and a nice boat that would be a good investment for the right person looking for a bargain that needs minor cosmetic work.Prefer cash on collection, Storage can be Paid @ £20 Per week where she lies.Buyer must make contact to arrange sale within 24Hours of winning the item. Thanks for readingStuart 07788774991
