Quilla is a boat designed from the Michael Pocock stable and made by Blue Water Yachts, Jersey. She was destined to be a racer with the ability to be a cruiser. You can look up her racing history by looking up Quilla on Liverpool Sailing club, and others. She is a boat that likes to be sailed, but is not skittish. My wife and I have sailed her together across and beyond the channel, and stayed on her on extended trips. She is logged at sailing over 7 knots and averaging on close to the wind at 6.1knts. She is comfortable in rough seas, especially when you have the confidence to know that her hull will take a lot more than many as she retains the ½ ton of encapsulated lead underneath. From when we bought her three year ago, we have turned her from being an out and out racer as was uesed by the previous owner into being a boat that will sail but is now comfortable below, even though she is forgiving to the skipper! She can sleep sleep 6, single fore cabin, twin in saloon, (two cot bunks also in saloon) and a large quarter berth behind the chart table aft. Storage is plentiful under the cockpit; access is from the quarter berth. She has two sets of sails converted to furling for the genoa, however I have the racing hank forestay for the other genoas and jibs. The is a removable inner forestay; three spare halyards for spinnaker/jeniker and storm. All sheets lead back to the cockpit, and clutches/jammers abound. The running and standing rigging were all replaced before I bought her and the date given was 2010. (You will notice the dedicated non slip raised areas set in epoxy resin and now painted. As I have said, she sails because she was made to sail, I have raced her in ‘Club cruiser races’ but nothing serious, but the response is wonderful and lets you know before weather helm is going to be an issue; but having needed to spend days on her, she is comfortable. The list of equipment is long and also the upgrades. Two sail sets: Lelvar Racing Main and Genoa. Good condition Dacron Cruising main and 136% Genoa. Great Condition Jib No 2. Good condition Free loading Vang and Cunningham Keel stepped mast Lewmar 40 2 speed tailing winches as well as all the smaller winches for halyards. Raymarine SR 1000 GPS tiller pilot All nav instruments, listed below. 80 litre water tanks and electric Pump (Aqua Jet water pump water) Cabin water heated from engine fed Calorifier. 2 ring and grill gas cooker Cool box 60 litre stainless steel fuel tank with shut off valve. This tank was removed and cleaned while the old engine was out. Bilge/engine and locker pumps (Manuel) Tiller steering with auto helm bracket Two marine batteries showing full charge. Spinnaker pole and guys Warps, spare lines. 6 fenders, with socks CQR main anchor: 30mts of chain and 20mts of warp Nav lights, Masthead Try, P&S, bow and stern, steaming and deck lights. Named dodgers, Spray hood, and sail cover. All nav lights work and new wiring to all stern equipment. There is so much more to say about this pedigree ½ tonner, so I would prefer that you come and have a sail and see her for yourself. This year she has had four coats of Seajet 033 this year. There is no weed on her at date, and a srub would do little to damage the antifoul coatings. I are selling as I do not get the time to use her as much as I used to, so she really needs to be with someone who will sail her and get the most out of this designed fast cruising and racing yacht. Any question, please do ask and will be open to serious offers for this classic racer/cruiser. Beware of others in a 1/2 tonner class, many did not sail as well in their class and could not become a comfortable cruiser with so much added for safety and long range sailing which Quilla has. Thank you for looking. I wish toy have a deposit upon agreeing the sale of Quilla and the remainder paid by bank transfer within 10 days. Any survey is welcome at the buyers expense.
