Fantastic example of this very well built and sea worthy cabin cruiser for sale. I have a trailer available that the new owner can borrow to move the boat or buy separately. I have always fancied a sailing boat but decided a less stressful introduction to boating would be a cabin cruiser to learn the basics on. I drew up a wish list of what my ideal boat would be, and decided on the following requirements 1) Big enough for 4 people to live aboard in comfort with proper cooking and toilet facilities 2) Small enough that it would fit on a trailer, for storage and transportation. 3) Have an inboard Diesel engine for reliability and fuel economy. ( she has a Volvo penta d3-130 fitted with only 230 hours use ) 4) Have a semi displacement hull for a decent top speed ( I've seen 22 knots with 2 adults on board ) 5) Seaworthy hull capable of coastal use. 6) Chartplotter, echo sounder, VHF radio. 7) Auxiliary outboard for added safety. After looking at several cheaper "bargains" I viewed this boat and knew she would fit the bill perfectly. The only missing item from my wish list was number 7, but I've since rectified this which I will detail later. The old adage " buy cheap, buy twice" could have practically been invented for boat ownership. My father advised me to buy the best boat I could afford so I could spend my weekends sailing, not repairing, and I'm glad I took his advice. A purchase as big as this was not something I took lightly and prior to parting with my hard earned cash, I commissioned a full 19 page condition and valuation survey in March 2014. This survey was by a qualified marine surveyor and I will pass it on to the new owner. The survey valued the boat in the region of £17,500. And described the condition as excellent. An extract from the survey reads as follows: " The previous owner has spent over £20,000 completely refitting the craft over a five year period. The craft therefore enjoys a hardly used Diesel engine , together with almost a completely new outdrive leg, new bellows, new batteries, ground tackle and an electric windlass, plus all new linings. It therefore must represent one of the best examples in its class" During my ownership I have kept her fully serviced and purchased a brand new Tohatsu Sailpro ultra long shaft four stroke auxiliary outboard mounted on an imported Panther 55-0416 drop down bracket with a sixteen inch drop. I have a proper maritime and coastguard agency bill of sale in my name certifying there is no mortgage outstanding on the boat. I also have pretty much every receipt spent on the boat since 2003, in a huge comprehensive file. I'm now ready to take the plunge and buy a full on proper sailing yacht and pass the princess on to her next owner. Please remember the trailer is not part of the sale but can be purchased or borrowed separately. Included for free is berthing fees at Kip Marina until March 2017, a beautiful gateway to the cruising grounds around the Clyde estuary. ( check out their web site ). Thanks for taking the time to read my advert and please feel free to ask any questions or arrange a viewing. |
