I obviously realise that this is a large item to be purchased prior to inspection, therefore I will grant 3 days or 72 hours after auction end for buyer to view and agree satisfaction of description, however a non refundable deposit of £250 is to be paid into Paypal once item has been won within the 48 hours as specified below.LOW RESERVE!!!! However now I have just found the ideal live-aboard for me and could do with the extra cash to put into my new adventure hence the low starting price for a boat of this quality and size. LOW RESERVE!!!I have owned 'Kestrel' now for just over two years and enjoyed every minute of her. I purchased her in Porthmadog in Wales and had her shipped down to Gosport, as you can see in the last photo as I had her craned onto transport. I have enjoyed two good seasons on this lovely old boat learning all I think I need to to be able to progress to Yachtmaster, so unfortunately the time now has come to sell her as increasing work abroad and family commitments have taken priority, although she will be sorely missed.
So about 'Kestrel' she is a 1973 SNAPDRAGON 747 - 24.5 foot bilge keel, five birth (being 1 double converted from diner and 3 singles including forward v-birth), seperate W/C, sink and gas cooker, gas blow heater, solar panel (for charging dual batteries), fire extinguishers and blanket, marine VHF radio, depth sounder and speed, compass, good mainsail with one small professional repair, good Genoa and a storm Jib (I think it's a storm Jib but I've never taken it out of the bag tbh.)with roller reefing and tiller control this old girl makes for an easy, fun and comfortable yacht to sail single handed or with family/friends. All standing rigging in good condition, some running rigging could do with renewing in coming years, good Danforth anchor with rope and chain, Good condition Crescent 5hp 2-stroke long-shaft auxiliary engine, Yanmar YSE8 inboard diesel with top end rebuilt in 2012 (fuel lift pump has just stopped working, new one is around £300 although I've ordered a replacement electric one which I now have although no time to fit it). This is an easy fix for someone with the time and knowledge to do so.I have just paid for another years mooring in June 2016-2017 in Gosport which can be continued on to the new owner if required or just move her at your own leisure.
In all this is a lovely solid yacht, not built like some of these new models where you can almost see through the Glassfibre ,she has a good workable layout which most modern yachts of her size would struggle to compare with, she just needs someone to continue loving and enjoying her. LOA: 7.47mLWL: 6.25mBEAM: 2.45mDRAUGHT: 0.75mHEADROOM: 1.75mDescribed to the best of my knowledge. The pictures do not do it justice.Any questions please message through ebay and I will give you my number if required.I obviously realise that this is a large item to be purchased prior to inspection, therefore I will grant 3 days or 72 hours after auction end for buyer to view and agree satisfaction of description, however a non refundable deposit of £250 is to be paid into Paypal once item has been won within the 48 hours as specified below.Contact to be made and £250 deposit to be taken via Paypal upon end of auction by winning bidder within 48hrs, otherwise will relist.Remainder of balance to be paid CASH on delivery of keys at site in Gosport. No returns.Good luck and happy bidding.Any questions please contact Steve via Ebay messaging service I have advertised this yacht elsewhere so reserve the right to withdraw from sale at any point.MUST GO...LOW RESERVE!!!
On 20-Aug-16 at 10:28:01 BST, seller added the following information:The remainder of the years mooring is supplied with the sale of this yacht and can be transferred into the new owners name, lasting until June 2017, this is priced at around £500 per year, however future agreements must be done with mooring supplier. There is a 6kg Propane gas canister to run cooking and heating. Depth sounder, Speed log, Compass, Crescent auxhilary 5hp with fuel tank, Solar Charger, Dual Leisure Batteries, Marine Radio (fixed). All Navigation lights and interior lights are working. As far as I know there is nothing else required other than fixing the fuel pump on the inboard engine. Although the hull could do with a quick scrub as she hasn't been out of the water in 1 1/2 years. Nothing major.
