Hi, and thanks for looking at my ad for this Birchwood Vanguard 20 for sale on behalf of the owner. She was probably built around 1960 and is in nice working condition and with the benefit of a lovely Tohatsu 30hp, 4-stroke, electric start outboard. If you look around you'll see that the asking price of only £1,995 is very reasonable for a boat of this size and condition with this outboard engine with their excellent reputation for rugged performance; she is advertised for sale elsewhere.The current mooring at the boatyard in Egham can be retained by the new owner; please feel free to ask for details.
The boat is fitted with a lovely Tohatsu 30hp, 4-stroke, electric start outboard, model year 2003, that gives lots of quiet power with great economy and superb service and spares back-up from an excellent local main dealer. This engine is well matched to the Birchwood's hull so that you never need work the outboard hard to maintain good progress and is great for river cruising on the Thames, other rivers and the widebeam canals and these have ventured further afield too.
The hull and superstructure are built in GRP and appear to be very sound with a solid feel and you can see the original build quality that give these boats such a long life with many years of enjoyment still to come. There is a Boat Safety Certificate that runs until this month and a new 4 year certificate will be issued on purchase.
