For sale is a 1998, Suzuki DF60, 4 stroke, 60hp outboard. This motor use to push my 15' runabout around beautifully at a touch over 30 knots. Unfortunately it suffered from a couple of years lack of use and started playing up on me. Local agents had the injectors serviced/refurbed and it did run again during the service, it just wouln't keep going for longer than a few minutes. The on-board computer was reporting low hours on the service PC which I knew was incorrect. The engine had previously reported around 2,400 hours so I stongly suspected the problem was the engine computer. Put this together with an issue in the mounting pivot and it became uneconomic to repair. Some background: When I first bought this engine as an ex-houseboat engine, the hour meter was reporting around 4,500 hours but computer connection reported only 2,250 hours. I had an issue with an intermittent coil malfunction that was located and the coil replaced. The valve train was completely refurbed by Arnos Marine and seals replaced. Then ran faultlessly until a 2 year break. The complete setup is included including the wiring loom, forward control with emerg. stop and gauges. Not included are the injectors. Fix the pivot, add injectors and an ecu and the whole shebang should go OK. Workshop manual is being offered in another listing if needed. (I used it for routine maintenance and as a backup information on the water if needed, which it wasn't.) This auction is pick-up only in the Woodcroft area south of Adelaide. (Having been asked the question before ..... No, there is no buy it now option and the auction will run to completion.)
