David Thomas designed shoal draft yacht with unstayed ketch rig and canoe stern. Being the later 23 version, it has slightly more sail area and ballast than the 22, although the same 22' 7" overall.Lydia was fitted out with a smart (non standard) wooden interior, with varnished battens over insulation (polystyrene?), and a good vinyl covered boarded headlining.She has the shallow draft bilge plates for drying out and a swinging keel that is raised by a self-tailing winch in the cockpit.The engine is a Mariner 6HP four stroke, in very good condition, and mounted in a well in the large cockpit, which is sheltered by a sprayhood. The engine has an internal tank, which I use, but also can be connected to an external if preferred. It also has a charging coil, which currently is not connected, but there is a cable installed for this- I just haven't changed the connection since upgrading the engine from an older 5.The sails are older, but in good condition, and protected when not in use by recent Goacher sail covers. Although a cruising oriented boat, she sails happily, and we enjoyed over 6 knots in the chop East of IOW just recently.A previous owner liked their gizmos, and there are a selection to go beep and flash numbers at you;

NASA LED tricolour/anchor light on mainmast (me again). Tested, but never used in anger.Rather than squeezing in a load of berths inside, she is set up with 2 berths, though there is space for a 3rd quarter berth, but this has been used for storage of the tender. If more folk want to sleep aboard, the cockpit seats are over 6' long... More importantly, there is an enclosed heads compartment just inside the companionway, with a loo that has a holding 'tank' built in, but can also be pumped out (through a recent, not cheap, skin fitting). The head compartment on Lydia has a nice folding louvered wooden door also, unlike the standard zipped fabric style.The anchor is a Bruce type, with chain and rope in the forward anchor/mast pivot slot, and there are numerous mooring lines, fenders, other lines, boathooks, shore power cable, ensign/post, random other flags, pots, pans, tins of soup, stove fuel, shackles a-plenty, seaweed, spiderwebs, bits, bobs, and doobeywhotsits.Oh, almost forgot, a nice Origo 3000 2 burner spirit stove that I fitted recently to replace the camping stove/gas canisters.All in all, she is a very nice boat, and in regular use. Not a wreck, not a run-of-the-mill job, and most definitely not a pr---ct! She is a good example of the class, and I have really enjoyed her, but situations change, and I am now looking to sell.On top of all the above; There is also a very lightly used Seago 230 round tail inflatable with airmat sole, 'oars', pump, thwart, outboard bracket, which I stow in the quarter berth tunnel. And... a Yamaha 2.5HP 4-stroke outboard in very good condition, which can be seen mounted on the pushpit in some pics.If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Currently she is on a berth at Haslar Marina in Gosport (if coming far, it is easy to get a train to Portsmouth Harbour and catch harbour ferry from outside the station- the marina is close to the Gosport ferry pier).
