Up for sale is an 1982 Eliminator Daytona 19' Tunnel hull performance boat. The boat is in average condition for the year. Its got an super light kevlar hull. The boat is very very light, you cannot even lean on the sides as it will crack. This boat will run in the low 100's. I am listing this with TWO different engine options, the first is an Mercury Bridgeport EFI with an true offshore midsection with the ridgeback. The bridgeport is an 240 hp EFI outboard and is a real screaming engine. This motor runs high rpms 7500 to 9000 if you want to push it to 9k. The bridgeport comes with an Bobs low water pick up lower unit. Its a 20" motor. The boat with Mercury Bridgeport price is $8500. Other motor option is an 1998 Mercury Promax 225. Now the Promax is a fresh rebuild with about 10 hours on the powerhead. The original promax block was beyond saving, so this motor has an 240 hp Mercury Sportjet block which is exactly the same block as the 225 Promax. We used the original 225 promax crank, I believe there is 5 std bore pistons in this motor and one .10 over bore piston in this engine. All new high performance metal caged bearings were used, all new gaskets and seals installed as well. All the original 225 Promax engine parts were used as well, heads, intake, all new 7 petal two stage Mercury Racing reeds used, original Promax ECU, throttle body with injectors(all cleaned), and all original Promax electronics and flywheel used. The only thing that is not from the original promax is block and pistons and few new rods were used as well. I tried this motor with the 240 ECU for about an hour but liked the 225 ECU much better as it ran much higher rpms. The motor runs fantastic, and is very very fast. The Promax originally had the old style 260 Light weight cowling which I used for another 260 when the Promax blew up last year. So I ended up using an Alien cowling I had sitting here for this Promax. The Alien cowling is in great condition, no scratches anywhere in it, has some very small tiny blemishes in the fiberglass from when it was produced, but they are pretty hard to see, but wanted to make note that they were there. The Promax is being sold with an true Mercury factory 260 Ridgeback midsection 1998 Serial number, with an CLE Lowater Pick up lower unit. This is a great lower unit, has not been resealed in years but does not take on any water, gear oil in nice and clean free of metal residue. Probably wouldn't hurt to drop it off at marina and have then reseal it for next season, doesn't cost much about $200. If you want the boat with the 225 Promax price will be $11,000. Motor alone is worth $6500 to 7k all day long for a fresh engine. NO SALTWATER use EVER either huge plus when it comes to finding a nice clean high perf outboard as 60% of them out there have been in saltwater and look just horrible!!!! This boat handles the best of ever tunnel boat I have ever owned, and I have had an ton of them. Best thing about this boat is its a center steer with a back seat!! So if you want to just go out by your self and go fast you can, if you want to take others out with you and still go fast you can. The boat will seat 4, one adult driving and three kids in back seat or two adults in back seat. The boat is rock solid, rock solid nice dry transom, rock solid everything in this boat!!!! I have been running the Bridgeport, but was in process of putting Promax back on. I am not going to put anything on it now until it sells and I know which motor buyer wants. Boat is located in Janesville WI. |
