Khululeka, the Zulu word for ‘Free Spirit, become free and relax’ is a 60 x 10’ widebeam narrowboat built in 2013 by Viking Canal Boats in Poland. This beautiful green boat was designed to be light and airy to enhance the feeling of living close to nature. Carefully planned from a power perspective, with underfloor insulation, she allows easy living ‘on the cut’.Cruiser stern with 2 lockers (ideal for coal storage), tonneau cover and skirt. Side steps lead into the galley via a full size, side door. This design allowed the creation of a 1.3 x 1.15 storage cupboard (‘shed’) which currently stores 3 bicycles and houses the electrical cupboard. The kitchen is finished to a high spec with solid oak tops, a breakfast bar and seating for up to 6 people with top extension. Plenty of large kitchen units, gas oven, hob and grill, 12v fridge with freezer compartment, Hotpoint washer/dryer, 1.5 sink and drainer plus shoe and wine racks.The comfortable, cosy lounge comprises a corner couch which converts to a double berth, a 5kw Valor solid fuel stove, book case, 12v TV and radio with CD/USB/AUX facility playing through 6 speakers located throughout the boat. An open plan office/single bedroom is adjacent to the lounge and can easily be privatised by drawing heavy curtains. Here there is a desk which serves as a comfortable bed along with plenty of storage. A large passage cupboard between office and bathroom is ideal additional hanging space.A well thought out, spacious bathroom incorporates a 1.5m bath, shower, basin, large vanity unit, plenty of cupboard space and Viking Canal Boats’ first installation of a compost toilet. This has proved hugely successful reducing the need for a pump out station or frequent visits to a Elsan disposal unit.The front situated bedroom encompasses a free standing double bed with 4 storage drawers, two wardrobes and storage cupboards, book case and over bed shelving. The wooden, glazed front doors lead out to a front deck which serves as a lovely, light, extended living area covered with a Canvasman cratch cover. Two 13kg gas bottles reside in the front locker where there is also additional storage space.Windows and Glazing Light and spacious interior with large rectangular windows, Houdini hatches in lounge and bedroom and glazed windows in duck hatch and front rear doors. All glazing double glazing apart from fully sliding windows in kitchen and one in bedroom greater air circulation in warm weather. EngineBeta Marine 60hp engine with 510 hours.
