The Albatross was manufactured circa 1958 and supplied to Mr M.T. Warburton of Bolton. Warburtons Bread Bakers were founded in 1876 by Thomas. W. Warbuton and have continued to expand their business. On the 17th of June 1972 Mr Warburton sold the Albatross to a gentleman from Somerset, whom travelled the length and breadth of Britain enjoying his boat. The Albatross has been gently restored over the past 18 months and is quite magnificent, retaining its original Lucas Ignition key. The Engine and engine bay have been fully detailed with the engine having a major service, starts instantly and sounds as sweet as you like. It is worth a visit to to look at how active these boats are some 60 years on. This particular boat is a MK 3, with clustered dials rather like the early Continental, even the original chronometric rev counter is present and also retains its Bull Frog Nav Light. The trailer is original to the boat and equaly restored to a very high standard, stamped in the frame is " GKN Steel, Wales ". In the 50s this was the boat to own, with such famous owners such as Prince Phillip whom kept one aboard the Royal Yacht Britannia, Prince Rainier of Monaco had a fleet of six and Film Star Brigitte Bardot also had a Albatross. In the boats hey day over 27 countries had been supplied with the " Best of British " ,perhaps you would enjoy being the next custodian.
