1986 Sea Ray 230 Boat 24' 5.7L Cruiser Cuddy w/ dual axle Trailer
Estimated price for orientation: 3 000 $
Category: Cruisers
Class:
Description Condition: Used Year: 1986 Make: Sea Ray
So my starting price is $3000. As you can see from the Nada book value the boat can be worth over $20k+. In low value it's nearly $5k so I'm being very fair with my asking price. However...I want this boat gone because it's taking up too much space at my shop.So this boat was recovered legally at my shop through a mechanics lien. My customer did not pay his bill. After 8 months of trying to get him to come down and pay his bill I filed a mechanics lien through FreeState Lien company. Title is free and clear. Now onto the boat. It's a very large and long boat. It is a 1986 Sea Ray 230 Cuddy Cruiser 24' boat with an 8' beam and comes with a dual axle trailer. The boat was brought to me so I could do a one over on it and make sure it was sea worthy. I sifted through the boat and I performed a general inspection of the entire vessel. I used a resistor jumper to fire the coil and started the engine. I ran the engine with fresh fuel for about a half an hour. No problems. Never over heated, blew no smoke and had good oil pressure (around 60psi). The boat exterior is in good shape but has no stern drive. The owner took the thing right off the boat. Found a few good used replacements for $350-$850 depending on them being used to rebuilt. So as you can see that in itself is no big deal. Buy a gasket kit ($65) and you're golden. The cuddy cabin is ok by I'd definitely do a different fabric color as I'm not a fan of red. It has the wires pulled out by the steering wheel and accelerator arm but that's it. Those would take a few hours to redo and complete.Mechanically it's a good boat. With a little TLC it will be ready for the water. I can ship the boat at a cost, meaning if you're close enough to me I will deliver the boat personally but it will cost you a few hundred dollars.Lastly, I do not have the title for the trailer. However it does not matter because you can call up Maine, give them the VIN# on the trailer and register it through them. They will send you a title and tags. Because it's Maine there are no inspections needed. Every boater, trucker and trailer owner does it this way. I own 4 boats and this is the way I title and register every single one of them.I encourage EVERYONE to come and see the boat in person.A $1000.00 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is required at the end of the auction within 24 hours of it ending. ALL auction fees will be paid by the buyer. I prefer cash in hand but I do take credit cards at a 5% fee or PayPal through friends and family ONLY. I have been scammed and ripped off too many times through regular PayPal by people filing fake claims so that's the only way I will accept it. I own and operate Central Maryland Automotive & Boating for 10 years and have great feedback and satisfied customers. I am truthful and honest about everything I post.If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I want this boat gone out of my shop as it's taking up a lot of usable space. Thanks.
