About Gypsy Swan This is a 1980 Swanson 28 canoe stern  designed by Ron and Jim Swanson, it is built like the proverbial brick dunnie but looks really nice. The hull and decks are in good order, no deck soft spots, the boat is sound. She has a 3 cylinder Kubota 28hp diesel engine by WM Diesel Sydney, serviced last December and proved to be in excellent order. The boats history has seen it travel from far north Queensland to Sydney. Sails include the main, genoa, 2 jibs and an old spinnaker. All but the spinnaker are in average to good order and will definitely see you sailing this season with no trouble. Some of the electronics are old style but work well. (GPS and depth sounder. All the running rigging has been removed, except for the topping lift, and the main, jib and spare halyard  have been replaced. The spinnaker lines have not been reinstalled however cables are in place to pull new spinnaker rig through the mast should you require to do so.
I understand from the previous owner and some documentation that a considerable amount of work was undertaken in 2007 including the new engine, rig replacement and electric re wiring. Since purchasing the boat in June 2014 I have;- Replaced the prop shaft, baring and coupler, Changed skin fittings, Anti fouled the hull twice, Replaced the windows, Repaired the electric toilet pump and macerator, Installed 3 new batteries, (1 engine start and 2 house) Fitted 120w solar panel charging all three batteries, Replaced fluorescent tubes with LEDs, Repaired sails and replaced much of the running rig, Added new sound equipment, new sail cover and bimini cover. I am working on a repair part of the cabin floor and water tank under it and will shortly replace the cabin head liner. That’s when I hand her over to you to enjoy.  I am selling Gypsy swan because I am planning a move to a 34 footer. Gypsy is my first large boat and I hope you get as much enjoyment from it as I have had Good luck
