Hallo, thanks for looking at my listing. First off, why am I selling, well it is with some sadness, but also with a sense of realism. I'm getting a bit old for this style of life, especially as, weighing in at in excess of 20 tons, single handling this widebeam is taking it's toll on my arthritic joints. So I'm off to live on (hopefully) dry land and I cannot afford both house and boat. This is what is known as a reverse layout build, which means you enter from the stern (back) deck into the Utility room. Now when I first viewed this boat with a view to buying it, I thought what on earth possessed the builder to put this room here? Well, I came back to it after seeing many others because I realised it is a very good idea! You don't have to navigate yourself and your shopping or wet clothes through your bedroom. Neither do you walk straight down into your nice clean comfy cabin with perhaps muddy or oily clothes. (always chores to do on a boat remember). Instead you enter your Utility room and take your boots and sou'wester off there and put your tools in the cupboards. You also have your washing machine there as well.Okay, now into the kitchen, to put your perishables in the refrigerator and put the kettle on! Put your dry goods in the under-counter cupboards and get your cake forks out of the cutlery drawer.Tea made and you're immediately into the day cabin and your favourite comfy chair. As with everything else on the boat, it is intended to leave the nice furniture there, in particular you will find the bed-settee very comfortable for a visiting couple. I use it myself as a single when a couple come to visit and I give them the bedroom. And there on a cold day is the welcoming Morso Squirrel solid fuel stove. Here also, the first of 3 radiators which are powered by a Webasto 'C' top system, This also supplies the hot water for washing and showering. There are storage cupboards in this area.Cupboards also line the passage way to the shower/toilet (Thetford cassette) and washbasin. Another radiator in here. Plenty of cupboard storage in here also. It's a good strong shower flow, thanks to the Surflo water pump tucked away under the front deck and the shower water is pumped out by the Whale pump.Next, past more cupboards into the double bedroom. A make-up desk or computer desk is here, a full length wardrobe and there is more storage under the divan style bed and one more radiator for those really cold nights or just to come on early in the morning.Double doors lead out on to the forecastle (fo'csle) or front pointy bit. Plenty of room here for coal, water hose, ropes, fold-up chairs and W.H.Y ('what have you' for those unfamiliar with it's use) and for sitting out to enjoy the view as you cruise along the canal. The whole of the interior is done out in Oak finish. The floors throughout are polished wood. Going by the knots, I'd say it's pine, but don't hold me to that. Whatever they are, they are well polished. The lighting is a mix of mini strip and l.e.d according to where I thought white (working) and softer (mood) was best suited. Changing them is no big issue. They are all 9volt.For 240v appliances a Phoenix Inverter (3kw) is installed. The cooking is by LPG and there are two gas bottles tucked safely away in the gas locker on the back deck.Your 4mph (maximum allowed) cruising is powered by a 50hp Kubota Beta Marine engine which has less than 500 hours on it at the time of advertising.Along side the engine are 5 batteries, one to start the motor and 4 'leisure' batteries. These keep your electrical doo dahs running when you have no mains supply. As well as the Webasto hot water, there is an immersion heater in the water cylinder which is in a cupboard in the Utility room. Water is also heated whilst cruising, by the engine. Being a 'cruiser stern' your travelling companions can join you on the deck whilst you are steering. It's a lonely life for the captain on 'trad sterns' and not much better for 'semi trads' there's so little room once he/she starts swinging the tiller around!Children on the boat?, they love to get up on the roof. For the sake of safety the roof is painted with non-slip paint. The proper one with bits of volcano in not the sandy stuff. Non slip roof is also handy for lock-work, especially if you are single handing. Being a widebeam means you also get wider gunwhales (gunnels) to walk along, these too are coated in non-slip paint. If you want to keep the boat where it is, mooring charges are very reasonable at Lower Park Marina BB19 5TB but of course you have to make your arrangements with the office, which is open 7 days per week. Should you wish to moor it somewhere else and don't want to cruise it there, crane access is available here also. Charges apply of course.Unlike many (?most) Marina's, access to the moorings by car is possible and there is ample free parking at the Marina office for overnight/all day/rest of your life, all the while you are paying for a mooring. This is a very friendly laid back Marina, the folks are friendly and there's (in my 3 years experience) no vandalism or theft. If you are inexperienced, not a handy-person, ain't got the tools, whatever, there are people here that do Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry....all sorts of maintenance, without taking the shirt off your back!To listen to the weather experts, the recent heavy rainfalls are likely to be repeated well into the future, Much of Lancashire looked more like the Lake District last summer and many poor folks lives were turned upside down by floods and power outages. Yet we boaters were able to keep our feet dry and warm. Worth thinking about eh?Any monies paid will need to be verified before hand-over of boat, so, cheques cleared, bank transfer confirmed and CASH!, checked at bank for, shall we say, printing anomalies?? I have included Escrow, I have a solicitor here in Barnoldswick whose services I have used in the past and would wish to use him if agreeable with the purchaser.Bottom blacked and anodes checked May 2015.BSS valid 'til July 2017Advertised elsewhere and will be withdrawn from eBay if sold on other site. Apollo Duck, Preloved, www.widebeamforsale.co.ukI'll bet you have questions eh?
