Unique 102 Year Old Stephens Raised Deck Motor Cruiser!"AN ORIGINAL PICNIC BOAT!"Eight Year refit of this 102 year old lady, originally built by Stephens Boat Works in Stockton, California. New Stem, Keel dropped out and resin impregnated by the late Rand Speas. New gar board planks, new steam bent ribs, new frames, new teak decks, re purposed teak main cabin interior, 5200 bottom job with cedar splines, new teak transom and framing, new teak decks, new upholstery, custom built trailer... The list goes on and on... She sleeps two comfortably, has a small wood / charcoal burning stove and recent bright work. She was originally inspired by an Otis Cutting design of a raised deck Motor Cruiser in 1910, when he first worked as a young draftsman for Moran Shipyard in Seattle, Washington. Otis later created Lake Union Dry dock. Next this design was refined by Leigh Coolidge whose design was scaled up to the J.N. Blanchard & Lake Union Dream Boats of the 20's and 30's from Lake Union, Washington. Our "Legend" formerly "Alice Lollis" is now ready for her second century. We have a complete photographic record of her refit. The only reason I am considering selling her is I am looking for a similar vessel a bit larger, like a 32 foot Elco Cruisette or a larger Rum Runner... But, I can continue to be quite happy with our 'Legend"...
