Ocean Reward is currently mooring- at Chatham. The berth can be transferred to new owner by agreement. Built of Larch on Oak frames in Frazerburgh Scotland by J Noble in 1969. She is a 54ft long by 19ft beam with a draft of 8ft 6” and weighs approximately 58 tons laden. As a Trawler, she was owned by the Sanderson family and operated out of Scarborough and Bridlington until she was sold in 2000 and professionally converted in Whitby specifically for the new owner and his partner (a retired marine surveyor) with one double cabin and en-suite wash/ shower and heads. The large main saloon has bench seating for 4 and room for two additional comfortable chairs. A relex diesel heater was installed in 2000 which has been retained as a feature and back up system for the diesel fired central heating system with radiators in each cabin and in the wheelhouse. The large galley is fitted with a fridge, freezer, cooker, and dishwasher with extensive miniature tiled worktops, sink and drainer. A bright and airy feel is provided by the large glass and teak canopy overhead, fitted with blinds for privacy. The boat is snug and warm in ice and snow and very economical on diesel and electricity. She has a 3 phrase 17.5KVA diesel generator fitted to operate the electric winch and provide the mains power to all the electric galley power points and water pumps (2X 24v + 2 240/24 Volt) and there is a shore power supply (both 32/16 amp) for economy. An inverter is fitted to power the computer navigation when at sea and switch mode 50 amp battery charger supplies power to the batteries. In 2004 Ocean Reward was sold due the unfortunate death of the owner. One of the main fuel tanks (2) was removed to create another cabin with a single bunk and cupboard. The remaining tank provides an adequate working range of 600 nautical miles @ 3.5 gallons per hour returning 8 knots. The interior upholstery and carpets were replaced at this time and diesel fired central heating installed. The boiler is located in the engine room. Domestic batteries (2) were replaced in 2006 and the main engine batteries in 2007. A large capacity holding tank was fitted with an electric evacuation pump and LED indicators. The rear wheelhouse contains the original twin sea gas burners with pan retainers. The front wheelhouse contains hydraulic steering, navigation computer and 15 inch LCD screen, 2 radar units, 2 GPS satellite units, a VHF radio, 1 SS band long range transceiver, 1 Navtex weather unit, hydraulic autopilot, controls for the generator, search light, plotting table and six man life raft. An EPERB (satellite emergency beacon) with hydraulic release is fitted to the roof along with a multiple array of SSB, VHF and GPS receiver and Satellite TV antenna. The engine room contains a large six cylinder 350 HP cumins diesel engine NT855 (1999) fitted to a dual disc gearbox, the generator, inverter (2005) smoke and carbon monoxide alarms (2007) Central heating boiler (2005) new hot water system (2013) batteries, water cylinder, water tank & storage. The boat was taken out of water for a full paint overhaul in April 2016, we also replaced the anodes. For a wooden boat she requires regular internal and external painting which the current owners can detail. The engine and generator, hydraulics were fully serviced in April 2015. She has proved to be safe in all conditions, and within the last 5 years has traveled to Holland and up and down the Thames, as she used to reside at St Katherine’s docks. The boat retains its zero VAT status which is not payable for moorings and handling for any British ports. In addition this allows replacement of safety and navigation equipment and certain components free of VAT. Our time looking after her is coming to an end as a new venture is due to start - she is a wonderful home and exciting adventure. Should also say we are open to sensible offers on the asking price.
