Description
Welcome to our stunning widebeam barge, she is a very comfortable live aboard with 4 berths and with space for 4 more guests to sleep. Built in 2004 by Liverpool Boat Company she is 57’ x 10’ with double glazed and fully collapsable bespoke wheelhouse. All in, she weighs around 20 tonnes. We bought her from new and was delivered to us partly lined out and over the years we have completed several fit outs by skilled carpenters and joiners. We think we have finally got the layout right for family living and comfortable cruising. The cabinsides of the boat was painted in June 2015 and out of the water Aug 2015 to have the hull painted and anodes replaced. Boat Safety Certificate until 2018 Stern to Bow (All measurements are approximate, this is a boat after all!) Bespoke Wheelhouse The newest addition to our wide beam, completed in July 2015. Approximately 10ft x 8ft the lower section was constructed in steel with iroko used to frame the double glazed windows. It has completely transformed the original stern cruiser deck, in fact it has transformed the whole barge. Our wheelhouse was crafted by a highly skilled master shipwright and has created a wonderful extra inside dining and seating space fitted out in oak and mahogany with hand crafted oak strip flooring, which allows access to the engine room. Inside is a seating and dinning area which comfortably seats 6 adults, it also converts into a double bed for guests and there is loads of storage in the seats themselves. There is a much needed radiator and 240v/12v power. We have converted the old tiller steering to hydraulics and wheel. Our reverse wheelhouse is a trawler style thrupenny bit design, hand crafted to suit this barge and not the usual square box you may see on other barges. It is a very light and airy room which attracts a lot of attention, a real head turner. Galley Oak steps lead down from the wheelhouse (with storage underneath each tread). The galley has two large corner cupboards, further shelving and kitchen units (even a space saving ironing board and mini cloakroom!) and has been designed by us for family living, completed in August 2016. It has a brand new Baumatic gas oven and gas hob, a standard 240v full size fridge and freezer. The galley has over 3 metres of solid oak work space to prepare meals and works very well as a practical and bright family kitchen. One cupboard contains the electrics, the inverter and charger. Snug The galley and snug is a combine space of approximately 22ft with built in seating with storage and a new 4KW Valor Willow multi fuel stove. Its a cosy little seating area with huge storage within the seats, enough room for us to relax in front of the fire and read a book or watch tv. Cabin 2 The second cabin is 11’ x 7’ and has bespoke bunk beds (standard 3’ single) with storage underneath and a desk/shelving area along with room for two wardrobes. This room was completed in June 2016. Bathroom 7ft x 5ft There is a white 1500mm bath with shower mixer over. Sani-marine C48 macerator toilet. Sink, shelf and mirror. The electrics and pumps are located behind the toilet and under the bath with little hatches to get access if needed. A panel hidden in the wall houses the pipe work to connect the toilet to the holding tank. Full height double cupboard provides much needed storage at the top, whilst below houses the washer / dryer. One small radiator, one ceiling vent with extractor fan and porthole. Cabin 1 (Mastercabin) 9ft x 13ft A couple of years ago we incorporated the outside deck area to become part of the internal living area. Up to that point we had only used it for storing our bikes etc this enabled us to create a king size bed with generous floor space (for a boat!) underneath the is the stainless steel 500l freshwater tank as well as the 205l black water tank. There is also storage space under the bed and this room benefits from one large radiator. There are two wardrobes with drawers below and a further corner storage cupboard. Along with the best of the boat, this room has also recently had a fresh coat of paint and new engineered oak floor laid. Engine Room Isuzu 55 engine, anchor and chain along with loads of storage space. 200l diesel tank is incorporated in the skin. Heating There are 6 radiators throughout and they are powered by a brilliant Harworth Heating Bubble Jet Boiler which is amazing and has been faultless since installation and has rendered our lovely new stove a bit redundant! The brilliant bubble jet heats our water and our radiators superbly and runs economically on diesel. There are 6 Caldwell windows fitted and three port holes, one in the bathroom is frosted. There are also duck doors fitted along the corridor and a houdini hatch in master cabin, as further emergency exits. The boat has engineered oak flooring throughout which was laid in June 2016. The structural changes we have made to the stern and bow have actually added around an extra 12ft of internal living space. She has been our home for 12 years however the time has come for us to sadly offer her for sale. We currently live aboard on the Caledonian Canal in Inverness. Viewing is strictly by appointment only. Please be aware that not all items shown in the pictures are included in the sale! Please email for further details which I will try to answer as quickly as I can. No fender kickers or time wasters!
